Hello, I have had type two diabetes since July 2009. I have been in denial about taking care of my body and start to lose weight. I was on oral med's until April 2012, when my doctor put me on once a day insulin through the solo star pen. taking the med's and insulin stopped working for me so now I am on Meal time insulin, once a day and metformin. I am seeing some good things now that I have been on the meal time insulin. I have been on it since 2/15/2013.

2/19 I was able to keep my blood sugar under 174 blood sugar level all day. I don't remember when the last time that happened for me..



My goal is to control the diabetes, to get off most of my med's, and to drop from 293 to 220

My main reason for losing the weight is that my sister had a baby on June 5th 2012. If I keep going i will be dead in no time. My niece is the most special thing in my life..


Here is where I started in 2011 and here is where I am today... I am still not proud of todays numbers still but I have to proud that they keep going down... Gives me a lot of hope to see it done with...

Throid: 4.016 High
Triglycerides: 5359 ( still can't believe I was not in the hospital)
A1C: 10.3
CHOLESTEROL: 409
CHOL/ HDL RATING: 12.8

May 24th 2013:
Throid: 7.569 High
Triglycerides: 1328
A1C: 7.5
CHOLESTEROL: 241
CHOL/ HDL RATING: 8

AUG 20TH 2013:
Thyroid: 2.427 Great
Triglycerides: 930
A1C: 7.3
CHOLESTEROL: 211
CHOL/ HDL RATING: 5.3

Yay! I found your page, and added you! Glad to see you are doing so well. I am trying to get used to the whole diabetes thing. Crazy keeping track of blood sugar, weight, food, exercise, etc., but Sparkpeople makes it a whole lot easier to track.
