Hi! I'm "retired" and trying to lose about 90 pounds so I can become more active. We moved here in 2006 and love Central Oregon. Since retiring I have become a lay pastor in a small United Methodist church, and am the spiritual care coordinator and bereavement coordinator for Newberry Hospice. My husband is successfully retired and spends his time working in his vegetable garden (including green house) and playing with our two dogs.

Thank you for reminding me about the never ending circle of inflammation and pain. I will take your advice and try to break the cycle. Last week I only did 67 minutes of exercise, so that was a rest week for me. I'll try to stop pushing myself so much. Thank you, again, for taking the time to to try to save me from myself!

To my personal cheerleader - THANK YOU! About my walks - I find that I can last about 10 minutes before my pain starts. Then I walk back home, rest a while and go back out for another short walk and just do it 2-3 times a day to get the job done. It's not what it used to be but better than nothing. Thank you again for all your encouragement!

STAY WARM!!! emoticon
