Hello I'm tina, a 42 year old single mother of 4 from minnesota.
I've been about 40lbs overweight for about 15 years,and of course I've tried everything and I mean everything!!
Then one day a haphazzardly came across sparkpeople,I believe with alot of patience and a little support I can really do this, I've been a member since Novemeber 2009 and lost 20 lbs so far, that may not seem like alot in 6 months but the energy,and how good I feel is the biggest bonus.
Like I said, I heard this quote on T.V. and ever since I pretty much live by this quote day by day..I now plan everything, I admitt, it was hard at first,planning my breakfast,lunch and dinner for the next day,or planning my schedule to fit in a walk or exercize, then I realized, that when I had my four children I planned everything day to day for their survival, so if I can do it with ease for them why can't I do it for myself?
Since starting sparkpeople I have learned so many valuable tools for not only weight loss but for everyday living!!!
SP and my sparkfriends are so supportive and knowlegable and that's the kick in the butt I needed! there are so many inspiring friends,, that I now have reached goals and want to go on for much bigger and better ones!!!
One thing you have got to learn is not to base your success on the scale NEVER NEVER get disgouraged because you only lost one pound!! (or none).
In the last month I have only lost a total of two pounds but I can see a BIG difference in all my clothes and especially in my belly!!!!!! And not to mention how great I feel!!! But I have to admit I do get a little cranky.....thats when I dont make it to the gym to work out,at first I was getting frustrated with slow weight loss because I was watching what ate to a tee and going to the gym for a couple of hours each day and nothing....till my scheduule changed and I could only go to the gym for 35-45 mins a day and I found I upped my calories a little and Volia inches and pounds started to shed, went from a size 14 to a 9 with only losing 17 pounds,
I can see definition in places I havent seen in years..
I have cheekbones again....
cellulite almost gone...(I said almost)
back pain gone...
neck pain gone..
no more sleeping pills..(I have no trouble falling asleep now)
No more pain pills..
No more heatburn medications..
Restless leg syndrom gone..
Size 14 and 12 jeans gone..donated to the red charity bins that are all over Minnesota..
I can run a 5k in 29 mins 35 sec..is that good ?I don't know but to me thats so awesome!!!!

I have been a follower of Tosca Reno's clean eating for about 10 months,gettin better each month .
On top of clean eating I've found I have better luck switching low carb and high carb days i go 2 days high carbs then 2 days low carbs and then I do more cardio on high carb days, i find i like the variety and i watch my intake closer also and i never feel hungery
