Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
Since my husband and I brought home our little girl in 2006, we feel the need to get in shape for her sake, so we'll be around for many years (especially since we're older parents). So, here it goes!
I love to cook and have been known to seek and create recipes from around the world. To be able to modify them so I can still make them and enjoy them is huge for me, which is why I like the SP Recipe Center. I've already sampled some amazing recipes from the people who are kind enough to post them and look forward to doing it more.
I joined SP ages ago and was pretty good with it, but then as with many things, it was put to the side and I stopped watching myself, the scales or any of that. Next thing I knew, I was a bigger me than before so I dusted off the scales and put them in a prominent place in the bathroom and reset my SP stats so I can start all over again.
This time the motivation's different and I'm attempting to do a life change, not diet. I don't want to drop weight fast (well, I DO, but I'm not going to). I want to realign my thinking and my habits so once I reach my goal it's not like jumping off a moving train to maintenance. It'll be an easy transition.
Thanks for helping me on my journey to become the person that God wants me to be so I can take care of the little charge he's given us.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson -
"Captain, my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave."
- General "Stonewall" Jackson
For some reason breaking the 200 barrier has been a huge trial for me over the past bajillion years. I even came within a pound on here and then bloomed again so am back at square one. Short term goal, passing that barrier.
Long term, decades of life to spend with my family.
For now I'm developing a lifestyle of discipline around my eating habits. Once that's under control I'll add in exercise, but with all the changes we've made in our lives over the last year, one small step at a time is all I can handle. Diet mainly, treadmill as much as I can.
My husband and I run an IT business that is currently developing a hobby community, www.hobcommunity.com, that is a place where members can share all their hobbies (really, how many of us just have one) in one place. It's a lot of fun.
These are things I love: my husband; the wind; sunshine; cats; cheesecake; a great book; our daughter; hearing birds sing early in the morning; the combination of deep blue sky, brilliantly white clouds and bright green leaves; cooking; Diet Coke; ice cubes clinking in a glass; pro football; fireflies.

LOVE cooking! In my fat days, it was one dessert after another. Even tho' I still have 25-30# to go (was up to 205# within a year after divorce 8 years ago), I'm cooking vegetarian, vegan & health fish recipes.
Currently enrolled in local community college in culinary mgmt program taking 4 classes right now with first class tomorrow night! Plan to become a personal vegetarian chef & have already done some cooking for others and made some money. Slowly but surely!

How's it going? Looks like you are getting back on track. I'm still trying to do that -- the hardest part is tracking those calories. If I don't track I over eat every time!!!
