You Can Do It, Too!

I'm now a a 52 year old Christian woman who has lost weight with SparkPeople!! I lost a total of 56 lbs between May 2012 and May 2013! I gained a little on maintenance though, well actually 21 lbs! I'm back to living a healthy way again, eating healthier food, exercising, moving more in general and trying to lose weight again and get to my "original" goal of 125 lbs! Successfully losing weight from 2012-2013, I put my confidence in God and worked to get sober. I just celebrated my one year ...
I'm now a a 52 year old Christian woman who has lost weight with SparkPeople!! I lost a total of 56 lbs between May 2012 and May 2013! I gained a little on maintenance though, well actually 21 lbs! I'm back to living a healthy way again, eating healthier food, exercising, moving more in general and trying to lose weight again and get to my "original" goal of 125 lbs! Successfully losing weight from 2012-2013, I put my confidence in God and worked to get sober. I just celebrated my one year anniversary in April 2014!

I CAN DO THIS and lose another 39 lbs and get to my original goal of 125 ! But SP estimates that may take until December 2015! That's an awefully long time from now. But I WILL do it!

Having been encouraged by SparkCoach recently, to help avoid frustration and loss of motivation in having such a grand goal that would take so long, I'm breaking my ultimate goal into smaller and more bite-size pieces. I broke my big goal into 5 lb pieces at a time I even changed my ticker and keep it up-to-date!

Lose weight, eat healthy and in moderation, and
walk 5+ miles a week, consistently.

Get back to walking 1+ miles/day, 5 days/week on Monday 9/8/14 with my DH!

Weight loss goal a/o 9/07/14 is down to 24 lbs getting to 125 lbs by 12/31/15!
broken into smaller, more manageable goals of 5 lbs at a time!


My Program:
Be the best person I can be everyday, be a blessing to others, give God my all, serve Him and preach the Good News of Salvation through JESUS CHRIST and Teach the WORD OF GOD!

"Spark" everyday, especially using the Nutrition and Fitness trackers so I can lose weight again . I interact with my teams, SparkFriends and SparkMembers on a weekly basis!

As JESUS in the Bible promises, the HOLY SPIRIT has empowered me to take the Gospel "across the nations into the world"! :)

My name is Cathleen and I'm a born again believer in JESUS CHRIST! I'm originally from San Antonio, Texas and make my home in a small Texas border town deep down south along the Rio Grande River bordering Mexico. I enjoy reading the bible and applying its principles to my life. I love preaching and teaching the WORD OF GOD! I was originally motivated to lose weight and get healthy by a scripture in the bible that tells us that we are the temple of the Living God and as such, I take the best care of my body as possible!

Hi Cathlene; You asked how long it took me to lose the 4 lbs. Last week I weighed in at 279. But please remember I have been on a plateau for at least 6-7 months. If I can have another weight lose next week I will be excited. Thanks for asking. You commented about being unhappy. I think we all feel that way some days. I know I do. I find getting outside in the fresh air and doing some exercise always improves my mood. Even if I only walk around my yard and walk out to the pool I feel better afterward. If we can do something every day for ourselves or someone else I think we are happier. Take care and know we can do this.

I live near Traverse City and its the city to go too for scenery, food every thing but i live in a tiny burg on the Lake which is getting very quiet now but in the summer it is a bustling little village they usually call it quaint which it is! so cute and lovely and on Torch lake! Thanks for the spark goodie and all the wonderful comments on my activity feeds!
I am glad that I am motivating you. I need to know that so I can be motivated myself.
Been doing a bunch of work outside getting my back walkway fixed up. Hoping to finish it this week and then it will be on to another project.

Today I have started another phase of my life. My DD started school at the local community college today. I have been homeschooling for the past 28-29 years and so this will be a big change. Trying to adjust and so far so good. Still will have some home schooling to do, but it won't be the same as before.

Now I need to motivate myself so I can continue my healthy journey. Looking for ways to change things up and get going again. Looks like walks with the dog and some kind of exercise videos are in the near future.
Hope you are doing well with your own health journey. Let's keep each other on our toes this fall!

A very wise woman who had gone through depression once told me, "Act yourself into a better way of thinking", a saying which has stayed with me for years now. It's so true, if we act okay, eventually we become okay. Granted life gets in the way and we don't always feel like it, but we can still act like it in hopes that eventually we will feel like it. You got it?!!! emoticon

Not so lucky on the calves! Granted, they are tight, but my legs have never been curvy, I'm too short and squat!!! emoticon Not!!!
