Don't Give Up What You Want Most for What You Want Right Now

Ok, let's see...

I have been a member of Spark People for over three years now. I am not the success story you are hoping to find. I have gained weight since I joined. Of course, this is not SP's fault. It is all on me. I have not followed the program consistently.

That is changing NOW. I've started tracking and I'm exercising regularly again. I would like to lose 80 pounds. That would get me under 200, which has not happened since 2001.

I am 31, live in Iowa and work and volunteer as a counselor as well as a youth director at my church.

I enjoy my life and am looking forward to figuring out this last piece of the puzzle that bring unhappiness at times.

Your comment on my blog is just like what my sister asked me! lol.

I still LOVE Chattanooga! I have so much fun here, and 99% of the people are so sweet. Heck, just yesterday, I helped a friend get her tire fixed and the mechanic did it for free AFTER his shop was closed just because "You can't leave a lady broken-down."

The thing about crime in this city is that it's not a city-wide issue -- it depends on the neighborhood. I live on the edge of some transitional real estate. On three sides of my place are lots of nice bungalows with friendly folks inside, but across the street are people who could only afford to live 2 feet from a huge rail yard, beat each other up like it's no biggie, and steal stuff for drug money. We are not house hunting in this neighborhood! We're looking at the more suburban, up-and-coming places with families in them. Also, we will have a garage.

So that was a very long answer to your question! Even though I've had a couple of bad things happen lately, I've had so many great things happen here that I can't help but stay!

Hey there, are you still involved in the Quad City Spark team??? We have a new team leader who needs some help getting the team back on its feet. Since you were one of the last people to even post a message on that sight I am hoping you are still interested in team activities.

emoticon you, and love your blog! YOU can do this, M!! It's not easy and it's not always going to be fun, but you'll reach your goals as long as you keep your focus. You need to retrain your brain! No more negative talk or thinking!! Focus on the positive and create short term goals. Look ahead at only the next 10 pounds....not the big picture. Before you know it, 5 of those 10 pound goals will be faded memories and we'll be planning a trip to meet up somewhere :D I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!! I have faith in you. Take each day and make it the best you can! No need to strive to be perfect each and every day or at each and every meal. That will come in time. Awesomeness doesn't happen overnight, but it IS attainable :)

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day!!

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
