Focusing on the Changes to get the Results

I have lost over 100 pounds from my highest non-pregnant weight. I am thrilled with my progress and want to get to a healthy weight according to chart and graphs.

I have been overweight practically my whole life. I've tried over and over to break out of my emotional eating. I've gotten frustrated in the past when it didn't happen quickly enough. This time, I'm in it for good! I will get to and maintain a healthy weight! I will be a postive, powerful role model for my daughter!

My Goals:
I want to be a healthy, active role model for my daughter. I want her to see that anyone can do anything they truly decide to do IF they want it badly enough. The only way to teach her that is through example. I'm the mama....she'll do what I show her...NOT what I tell her!

My Program:
I am working my way off of following the Nutrisystem program. I have achieved great success using it and am now working towards finding a balance without relying on prepackaged meals or making foods off limits. I want balance!

Personal Information:
I'm 51 years old, married with a 11 year old daughter. I'm a 2nd grade teacher, and live in a suburb of Houston, Texas.

Other Information:
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

Seriously!

Quotes I like:

"The problem with change is that one change is never enough... In order to have the life you want you have to be willing to give up the life you have."

Recipe for a Merry Christmas

To a cup of tradition, time-honored and dear,
Add a generous portion of holiday cheer,
Combine with the memories of Christmases past,
Then sprinkle the mixture with joy unsurpassed.
Add a dash of good spirits, stir fondly until
You set it to rise in the warmth of good will.
Pour love over all in generous measure,
And garnish with laughter and heartwarming pleasure.

This Holiday Season, give yourself the gift of self-motivation:

1. Review your reasons for wanting to be healthier.

2. Think about how you felt when you began your new healthy lifestyle. You remember . . . tired, low energy, lots of aches and pains, miserable, embarrassed, etc. and pay close attention to the smallest changes in your body. Think about how far you’ve come so far.

3. Challenge yourself . . . the try some new, healthy food options; a new form of exercise; walk farther; run faster; whatever. Just make sure the challenge you set is realistic for you.

4. Set up reminders to keep yourself on track – they can be sticky notes taped to your computer monitor, automatic text messages/emails you send yourself, or anything else that will keep your goals front and center in your mind.

5. Surround yourself with others who are positive and motivated.

6. Read success stories or watch them on video.

7. Learn as much as you can about healthy lifestyles. In this case, education CAN be free! There is a ton of good info on this site or in your local library. Knowledge is POWER!

8. Just Get Moving! Once you start, you’ll want to keep going.

9. Keep a record of your progress. Seeing concrete evidence of your improvement will motivate you to do even more/better.

10. Help others when you can.

Keep going!

“Regardless of what came before or of what has yet to come, what matters most right now is how I choose to respond to the challenge before me. Will I lie down or will I fight? The choice is mine and I choose to finish strong.” (Dan Green)

You have it in you

When you feel like quitting, that’s an opportunity to keep going. When you feel like giving up, you have it in you to step forward with renewed energy and to give more.

Giving up doesn’t accomplish anything, and it doesn’t make you feel any better. It just leaves you with disappointment and regret.

There’s a way to keep going, and you know it. There’s a way to keep going, and just imagine how great you will feel for choosing persistence.

If you’re weary, stop for a short while to rest, but don’t give up. Remind yourself of all the good reasons why you’ve chosen to move forward, and then get yourself going again.

If you wish to be free of the effort, then do what it takes to finish the effort. Make all your work count for something by bringing it to a successful conclusion.

The next step is right in front of you, and you have it in you to take that step. Keep going, fulfill your best possibilities, and you’ll always be thankful for your choice to do so.

I see your Spark Friend, MICHIGANLORI is "The Motivator of the Day". What an honor for her.

I see you have been a Sparker for EIGHT years. WOW, there are so few of us still around, as I've been here seven. I also see you are a Libra girl like me. We are a "steel fist in a velvet glove" so don't forget that. We have to take care of our kidneys as it can be our weak area. Libras aren't meant to be fat as it makes us out of balance. Yoga and dance are great exercise for us.
