I AM NO LONGER AT GROUND ZERO!!

One step-at-a-time to regain my fitness. I had a distal pancretectomy and splenectomy 11/18/13. I am slowly going to regain the aerobic and muscular strength that I had pre-surgery. My fitness level is what helped in my recovery and my early discharge. So I WANT it back. Not so much to look good ( I have to admit that I was very vain about my firm triceps lol) but because fitness is functional- the lower heart rate aids in recovery and also exercise increased the immune system. Not so much to look good ( I have to admit that I was very vain about my firm triceps lol) but because fitness is functional- the lower heart rate aids in recovery and also exercise increased the immune system. So I returned to the gym on 1/1/14 , doing my favorite exercise - spinning. In about a week or so I will try sports conditioning to see how that works out. I am on the way to getting my health groove back.

Other Information:
"What is your secret to the weight loss, they all want to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them is ever prepared, truly prepared, to believe that it has nothing so much to do with chemicals , wacky diets and zippy mental tricks as with the most profound and sometimes heartrending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottom of my training shoes. The more molecules that I remove , the more weight I lose; it is that simple"

I had to chuckle at your observation about "The Secret" being removing the rubber on the bottom of your training shoes molecule by molecule! I am going to enjoy thinking about that tomorrow when I work on that very project. And I am also inspired that your fitness level helped you recover more quickly from surgery. My father had a similar experience with healing from surgery when he was in his early 80's. He walked several miles almost daily, and it made such a difference. Anyways, thanks for the new thought nugget!

Good morning, thanks for the compliment on my new page. I thought I would change it up. I'm thinking I might get into the habit of changing it every now and then. Maybe if I keep it fresh, I will keep my workouts and motivation fresh. We'll see. Have a Happy New Year! emoticon

Good morning, Happy December to you as well! I hope your December has gotten off to a better start than mine. I just have not been able to get motivated to get to the gym and my eating habits haven't been the greatest since Thanksgiving. I promised myself I would do better starting today. We'll see how that goes. Have a great weekend! emoticon
