I LOVE to PLAY!

Ice hockey is at the top of my list. I also like to ski (down hill, xc, water), hike, camp, kayak, garden, build things and fix things. I love animals, especially horses and used to be an avid rider. I have a loving and hunky husband - strong and fit. We have 3 teenage boys that keep me running (and cooking). They are also strong and relatively fit.
I don't have a paying job, so I have volunteered for a variety of things. Some are kid related, some not.
I have an engineering ...

I have an engineering degree and masters in management, but haven't worked in those fields since the first baby - 18 yrs. ago.
With all of the blessings in my life, I am struggling. Struggling with my excess baggage (80 lbs!) that keeps me from getting the most out of life. I'm embarrassed to see old friends and avoid reunions. My hockey game has suffered, as well as all the other physical things I like doing.
I am so tired of being fat (it's been 10 yrs this time) and even considered gastric surgery - but ran screeming from the info seminar. Now I am realizing that there is no easy fix. I am going to have to dedicate time and hard work to achieving good health. And so begins my Spark journey. . .

Spring will be here soon - today is absolutely beautiful here - I'm going to go for a nice walk around the neighborhood later this afternoon. I'm flattered that I'm inspiring you in upping your fitness minutes. emoticon I can't WAIT to check in with you as the week goes by to see how you're doing!
