Inspire Myself, Inspire Others

Hi I'm Jen, a single gal from a small artsy town in a farming community. I sell fresh produce from our family farm... and would really love to have the healthy body to go with the healthy lifestyle I promote... Do as I say AND as I do! I'm a realist and a pragmatist, but I try to encourage myself to lighten up and dream.... after all these years of disappointment I have to force myself to open up, have faith in others and myself. So here I am.....

My Program:
 Move Move Move. Stop any binges. Reduce intake of sugars & simple carbs which induce binges. Keep Calorie Range Balanced. Continue to not partake in fast food.

I track my food on Sparkpeople and use a bodybugg for all of my movement.

For workouts I use my Wii, WATP Videos, Biggest Loser Videos and I am saving up to get a treadmill!

Hello! I'm Jen. I was born and raised on my family farm in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. I moved to Seattle for college and ultimately found myself back on the farm. Its where I want to be, its what I want to do and now I just need to own my life

 I generally consider myself Martha Stewart meets MacGyver.... give me a pack of gum and a rubberband and I'll make you some curtains! I'm a touch on the geeky side... geeky enough to play Star Trek trivia, but not enough to answer in Klingon!

Hi Jen!
I added you as a friend (found you on BECKYB73's page) since I'm in Kirkland, WA and a fellow PNW girl like yourself. I've been having some trouble getting onto SP and getting motivated. I love your goals and think that they are totally doable. Just got back from a family trip to Hawaii and you should really add kayaking in Hawaii to your goals! :-)
I also want to know more about growing those great looking veggies. I've had a some success with growing some in my garden but with our ridiculously short summer last year, things didn't go as well as I'd hoped.

Hi Jen. I am Joanne from PA. I would love to know how to grow veggies that look as beautiful as the ones in your profile pic! I can't imagine what its like to live on a farm (we have them all over but I didn't grow up that way). Anyway I am a new gardener.. last year was my first in the ground planting. Only the tomatoes and peppers lived which I guess was pretty amazing. This year I am going nuts and trying a little bit of everything. I live in town setting so I have to keep it small, and I have to replace all the grass I kill... so wish me luck!
Best wishes to your in your journey. Looks like you are off to a great start. I have been around Spark People for a while, but just now getting it to work for me. I love the girls at the 300lbs plus team and I think I ended up here cause I saw your post.

You are so right about trigger foods and keeping them out of the house. Usually I do a pretty good job of this, until my evil, over confident twin takes over and decides that she can control the trigger and lets the bad foods in. Fortunately, I can say that trigger foods are no longer staples on my grocery list.

You look like you're doing great with losing weight! Keep sliding that tracker over, girl! Spring is almost here (well, maybe)

I'll do whatever it takes to keep Ben and Jerry out of my house! If I have to holler at myself in the frozen food section I just might. Usually I plan my route to bypass all those frozen delights. I think you're absolutely right about admitting and sharing this kind of stuff here, it's very liberating.
