Hi! My name is Amy and I am just starting on SparkPeople. I am trying to get off the weight that I put on in college...about 30 pounds! I feel like I constantly gain and lose the same 5-10 pounds over and over and I am ready for it to stop.

The summer began, and once again I was unhappy and not looking forward to getting into a swimsuit. This frustrated me because I absolutely love the beach and I decided enough was enough. It is finally time to make a real and lasting change. I am hoping to update my page a lot so that something will hold me accountable!

Fitness Minutes: 1,038

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get in the 135-140 range. But I am trying to use mini goals to motivate myself!
Starting weight: 163

160 - Buy a new book
156 - Get a pedicure
152 - Buy new running shorts
149 - ???? Be crazy excited that I am finally in the 140s? haha


My Program:
I have been trying very hard to stay within my nutritional ranges everyday.

I have started the couch to 5k program. Been doing a running/walking combo every other day. I am biking around my neighborhood on the off days.

Hoping to start weight training in the next few weeks. But don't want to bulk up! My body likes to do that...



Personal Information:
I am from North Carolina. I graduated from NC State and am now in graduate school at UNC. I am hoping to finish my master's in August and get a job!

I recently got married in April and my husband Thomas is extremely supportive. He has been very motivating throughout this process!

We just bought our first house and I am having a ton of fun decorating it and getting settled!

    I am in the same exact (one pound) boat with you today but who knows? Maybe next week we'll lose 2 or 3! Or when we think we've gained, an extra one might slide off!!

    Good luck today with your food and trying strength training. I'm off to body pump class (never been) and am a little nervous!!

    Hey, how's the running going? I finished week 1 yesterday and I'm thinking of starting week 2 tomorrow rather than waiting for Thursday. I'm trying to move my schedule to Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.

    Thanks for the pedometer!! Sarah and I walked for 45mins AFTER getting off work at 9:40 last night. So proud of us for going even though we were super tired! Get excited for our walk/hike tomorrow... I can't wait!!
