Hi! My name is Amy and I am just starting on SparkPeople. I am trying to get off the weight that I put on in college...about 30 pounds! I feel like I constantly gain and lose the same 5-10 pounds over and over and I am ready for it to stop.

The summer began, and once again I was unhappy and not looking forward to getting into a swimsuit. This frustrated me because I absolutely love the beach and I decided enough was enough. It is finally time to make a real and lasting change. I am hoping to update my page a lot so that something will hold me accountable!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get in the 135-140 range. But I am trying to use mini goals to motivate myself!
Starting weight: 163

160 - Buy a new book
156 - Get a pedicure
152 - Buy new running shorts
149 - ???? Be crazy excited that I am finally in the 140s? haha


My Program:
I have been trying very hard to stay within my nutritional ranges everyday.

I have started the couch to 5k program. Been doing a running/walking combo every other day. I am biking around my neighborhood on the off days.

Hoping to start weight training in the next few weeks. But don't want to bulk up! My body likes to do that...



Personal Information:
I am from North Carolina. I graduated from NC State and am now in graduate school at UNC. I am hoping to finish my master's in August and get a job!

I recently got married in April and my husband Thomas is extremely supportive. He has been very motivating throughout this process!

We just bought our first house and I am having a ton of fun decorating it and getting settled!

    Hi. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I'm staying on week 1 until I get the breathing thing down. This is technically only the fist week 1 but i started it on a Saturday so still building my stamina.

    If you are on week 5 then in my book, your WannaBeRunner should be AlreadyAmARunner! LOL I'm so proud of you. Do you have other tips that might help me breath better?

    Someone recommended breathing in for 2 steps and out for 2 steps. That's helping some.

    I can't believe I'm running... even if it is only for 30 seconds! LOL

    I'm good! I got a little behind on running too, hopefully I can get back on track tomorrow. I finished week 4 but decided to do it again because week 5 is CRAZY! I have only done day 1 (again) once. I got the JM30DS! It's a lot harder than I thought .... hahahaha not sure why I thought it wouldn't be that hard emoticon

    I hope you're doing well and staying active...where have you been? Missed ya around these parts! emoticon
