I am a 30 year old woman who has suffered with chronic fatigue for about 10 years. Over time I gained some weight and then about five years ago I herniated a disk in my back and promptly gained about 20lbs.
That said, I am also naturally muscular so I "carry my weight well" or so I am told. However, I am sick and tired of being fat and I am concerned that some of my health issues are exacerbated by being overweight and inactive. I work in an office, so I sit in front of my computer all day and often when I go home I don't have the energy to do anything other than lay on the couch for several hours (literally).
At my heaviest I was 208 lbs. or 94.5 kilos. I lost some of that weight through different things and last year, when I started with SparkPeople I 198 lbs. I lost about 12 lbs and then went on a month long trip to visit family in the States and completely got off track. When I came back home I was swamped with work and just couldn't get back on track. I gained back so that now I'm 196 lbs./89 kilos.
My goals for now are to increase my activity levels and get back on track with my eating. I want this to be a lifestyle. I NEED it to be a lifestyle as I deal with too many health issues to be continually "dieting". My end goal is to lose weight, but I don't want to be ruled by that. I would like to feel fit, no matter what weight I am at. I would like to lose between 12 and 20 kilos, or 25-45 lbs. It's a broad range, because I am aware that I need to find a weight that I can live with without sacrificing my life to try to maintain.

My Goals:
One of my "life" goals is to bike across Canada with my dad. I'm hoping to do it in about 5-7 years. This has been my dream for ten years already, but I am actually beginning to plan for it now.

In the mean-time:
#1 I want to get fit
a. I want to walk or bike to and from work every day.
b. I want to do some kind of activity over lunch break at least 3 times a week (like Pilates, or going for a walk)
c. I want to do some kind of activity on both Saturday and Sunday (like a longer Pilates, or weight training, or walking to church or the market/grocery store)

#2 I want to develop a generally healthy diet.

a. I want to cut back to one piece of dark chocolate per day as a general rule for sweets
b. I want to cut out all of my boredom/stress snacking or channel it towards fruit
c. I want to develop a variety of meals that are healthy that I can fall back to whenever without worrying too much about my allergies.

My Program:
At the moment I am jsut trying to start back up again. I'm focussing on getting fit more than losing weight.
I'm walking to or from work at least three times a week (20 minutes at a medium pace). I want to up that to at least five times a week.
My goal is to do a lunchbreak workout at least three times a week at the office as well.
In early April I am hoping/planning to begin a workout/strength training routine with a couple of friends.

Beyond that, I would like to aim for a calorie range to lose about 1/2 lb. per week. Not a lot, but I need to find my fitness grove first.

Personal Information:
I'm single and alternately love and hate that. :) I live in Ukraine at the moment which presents its own challenges and stresses, but also benefits (like people here walk more).
I deal with multiple chemical sensitivities and allergies which can just turn my life upside down in a matter of minutes. It's made it hard to be consistent with food and exercise. Food because I can't eat the same thing all the time or I get sick from it; exercise because most of my reactions come in the form of fatigue to the point where walking from one end of my apartment to the other is something I have to save up energy to do.
In the last year I began taking some new supplements and just trying to get active anyway and it does seem to have helped so that now I have more energy than I used to. I'm hoping this continues so that I can get in shape and not just feel good about my body, but feel like I am taking good care of it!
