Hi, my name is Dianne. I was born in 1957 and live in the high desert of Southern California. I am happily married since 1981 to my college (Penn State) sweetheart. We both work full time as engineers/managers. We have 2 wonderful rescued black labs. I love hiking, traveling, and reading. I have had some health problems recently and my Spark Friends have been an amazing source of support and fellowship.

My Goals:
1. Beat Cancer
2. Build strength to stop osteoporosis and promote good health
3. Eat fresh as possible, organic when available, and cut out most meat.

My Program:
Since having some health issues, I had to cut out a lot of exercise. Now I am walking most days and I need to add in light strength training. Someday I hope to take yoga classes.

Personal Information:
I grew up in PA but have lived in CA since 1982.

PSU undergrad, USC post grad.

Connor and Chrissy are black lab rescue mutts. They are litter mates that we got when they were only 4 mo. old and were born in May 1997. They are so much fun, such great dogs, and give us endless amounts of joy!
My husband and I enjoy hiking and camping though we don't seem to have much time for that these days. The dogs love to hike, but Connor's hip dysplasia is catching up to him and he can't do as much as he used to. He NEVER complains though...what a trooper!

Other Information:
I love to read. I have some favorite authors:
Elizabeth George
Martha Grimes
Janet Evanovich
Faye Kellerman
Jonathon Kellerman
Dean R. Koontz
Michael Crichton
Sue Grafton
James Patterson
Kathy Reichs,
Patrician Cornwell, JRR Tolkein, Terry Brooks, Margaret Weis, to name just a few!
I love traveling with my DH and we go someplace about every 6 weeks for the weekend. We plan to get to Ireland someday in the near future!

Hope your weekend is going well. As it gets closer to spring break time I find myself thinking back to my visit out to CA a few years back. I just loved that desert out by Palm Springs. (Palm Springs isn't really 'me' or my kind of place but seeing the sunshine and feeling warm sure was nice.

DH was trying to talk me into going away for the break but I find I'm so tired from work that I haven't got the gumption to pack and face the airport crowds to travel. Maybe we'll have an extraordinarily EARLY spring here and I'll be able to warm up here at home. Yeah, right......like that would ever happen.

Give the Druids a chase around the yard and tell 'em it's a greeting from my Bear!

    Hi Dianne!

I'm hoping you're taking care of yourself these days. I've been thinking about all the people I know who live in warm places now that the snow has finally arrived (on Sunday).

I seem to have developed quite an inversion to snow on the road after a near miss last spring while driving. I want to live in a snowless country. My DH will have no trouble getting me to pack my bags if he wants to move back to his old stomping grounds in Tucson.

How are the twins? My little Bear has once again taken to sleeping under the covers to stay warm at night. His idea of heaven is to lie in a sunbeam outside when the humidex is about 43 degrees. Our Airdale on the other hand preferred being outside in the snow. Animals are just as varied in their likes and dislikes as people, aren't they?

    Stay well!

Yes, our dogs are wonderful. And they know it -- and how much they are loved. We've had some fabulous dogs. I cherish the memories of the ones now gone on -- and relish the days with the two still making our lives brighter every day (and at present barking at the back door to come in!).
