I can do this!

The last few years have been the most difficult ever. I was injured at my last job in late 2013 then I was then diagnosed with fibromyalgia in early 2014 and around the same time my dad became ill, later learning he had lung cancer. My dad ended up dying 6 months after his diagnosis and it broke me. Of course during this time I was binge eating out of stress and emotions. I was feeling helpless for myself and my dad. I tried to be the strong one for my mom, as her and dad were just a few months ...
I tried to be the strong one for my mom, as her and dad were just a few months away from their 50th wedding anniversary. She needed me, so I did my best at being there for her. It was a daily struggle to get out of bed from the pain and depression, but I did it for her. So after my last drs appointment and seeing the scale at a number I cringed at I knew I needed to also help myself. I started seeing a counselor who told me it was OK to do things for me too. So I did. Even though still difficult from the fibromyalgia pain. Fast forward 5 months I finally lost 15-17 pounds. Hitting my first goal of getting under 200# was the first success I had felt in a long time. I will keep pushing. Great news is that I am getting married in February! I want to look good of course, so trying to lose another 15+ pounds by then. If theres anyone else struggling with fibro out here, I would love to get in touch and learn from you. Each day brings new pains and hurdles, but I am determined to get better. Would love to find support and encouragement here again. Thanks Spark people!

Update - I recently had a dr visit and had bloodwork done. It showed that I was lacking vitamins B12 and D3. After a month of getting B12 injections and taking supplements I have found I have a little energy to get up and move more. Its so amazing, I didn't think I could ever excersize again.

Update 5/1/2016 - After additional B12 and D3 supplements since January I have kept my energy levels up with less severe fibromyalgia pain. I still take daily pain pills which I am not happy about, but until there is a cure there is not much I can do. Being more active was suggested by drs in the past and it might be helping, but I still wear out pretty easily. Since last year I am down 19 pounds, but I am down about 30 pounds since my heaviest in 2014.

My Goals:
To look a little bit better for my upcoming wedding and look sexy for my soon to be husband. Biggest goal is to just feel better after the last several rough years.

My Program:
Cutting junk food. Drinking more water and adding green tea for a lift in place of coffee loaded down with sugar and cream.

Personal Information:
I am currently a stay at home cat mom to 3 furbabies. I am so lucky to be engaged to the kindest most amazing man ever! We are getting married in less than 3 months!! I spend my best days with my sweetie doing fun stuff be it fishing, kayaking, shopping or just cooking together and cuddling with our cats. I also make YouTube videos about stuff that inspires me, such as minimalism, capsule wardrobes, saving money, life of a cat lady and living in the boonies. My username on YouTube is Crystaltheminimalistcatmom. Find me there to see how my fiance' and I live as 2 weirdos in love.

Other Information:
I am a Christian, love learning how to be a better person in God's eyes and how to be the best kind of wife for my soon to be husband. Its all about serving him as the head of the home as we serve God (the head of the church) together even if that sounds old fashioned. I promise its not as awful as it sounds.
I enjoy reading Christian based self help books or books on health & wellbeing.

Be the best fibromyalgia patient you can possibly be! Don't ever feel bad about meeting 'other people's' goals. Do YOUR best in YOUR situation. and I will, too. :)
(no, I'm not a fib. patient, but I have other interruptions in my own journey)
We can do it!
