One Grandma's walk across the country

I enjoy living and intend to do so for a long time. I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoy doing things with them. I want to continue to be active with my children and grandchildren. I don't want to be the old fat granny who can't do things because I don't feel well enough.

I want to fit in seats, theater and airplane and I want to be able to run up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial one more time at least.

I have walked across the nation twice that I have recorded and intend to do it again this year.

I certainly agree with you. I was a manager of Day Surgery, Pre-admitting and PACU for 8 years. Hospitals are getting so competitive now, that they really depend on good customer satisfaction scores and good ratings to keep busy. With less reimbursements coming in things are tougher. Like you say more chiefs and less Indians. They are cutting staff and expecting everyone to work harder and more efficiently. It always frustrated me when they cut staff and expected you to raise patient satisfaction at the same time. It doesn't work that way.

Are you still working, or have you retired from nursing? I am 69 and still work 1 day a week. I am having a hard time leaving it.

Thanks for the goodie! Now you know why I have been on WT less. Ever since being captain of the panthers, it has been harder to keep up with WT!
