One Grandma's walk across the country

I enjoy living and intend to do so for a long time. I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoy doing things with them. I want to continue to be active with my children and grandchildren. I don't want to be the old fat granny who can't do things because I don't feel well enough.

I want to fit in seats, theater and airplane and I want to be able to run up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial one more time at least.

I have walked across the nation twice that I have recorded and intend to do it again this year.

Just wanted to let you know I was dropping out of the World Walking. With the 2015 5% Winter Challenge I joined, I am feeling rather overwhelmed. I also tore my right shoulder rotator cuff, and being right handed the computer is painful except for short periods at a time. The World Walking looked like such a fun thing to do, and I might come back to it later. I will check in with you two now and then, and see how you are doing! Have fun in your travels!

Bless us all, that as we live
We always comfort and forgive
We have so much, that we can share
With those in need we see around us everywhere.

Wishing you and all those you hold dear a wonderful holiday season and a blessed new year.

I see you have been a Sparker for over seven years. So have I and there are few of us still around from '07, so you have accomplished a lot.

I love the selection of quotes you have on your page.
What initially caught my eye was the one I had used the day I put nicotine out of my life: Nothing changes until something changes. That was 15 years ago.

I rely mostly on walking as well and with ideal weather, have increased my outings to around 8 miles. I'll measure it the next opportunity I have.

I also joined Spark in '07 and had achieved my goal weight in 2014, finally.
I kept steady through rehab from a stroke and slowly put 10 on months later. Right now my desire is simple.. Just back off that 150 range by New Year. It really makes a difference in lightening up my ...spirit, too.

I live within an hour of the Lincoln Memorial. I'll have to test my stamina in the spring and see what I can do with those steps.
