Another fine year ahead of us, I am ending 2013 at least 17 pounds lighter than I started with. I know I've had too much wheat products over the last few weeks, baking Christmas cookies, cinnamon rolls, potatoes... But I'm sure I'll reach goal sometime in 2014. And reaching the end is only the beginning, again.
I wish you all a very Happy New Year for 2014... (12-30-13).
I kind of like keeping my past intros, it gives me ideas of where I'm coming from with my current intro.
So here's another portion of my life. Christmas. This year will be the most different ever. I'm living alone, in the house where my sons grew up and when I was married. So it brings memories back but it makes this time of year totally different than the 28 years I've spent here before.
I didn't know SparkPeople when I lived here before but I'm so glad it's a part of my life now.
All is good and moving forward with my renewed commitment to live better, eat better and become healthier.

I've never really cared for Halloween however MY San Francisco Giants have the colors of Halloween so they fit so perfectly into the Week 5 challenge for BLC23. I'm hoping my decorations will fit into the OTHER category???

New update... I JUST LOVE SPARKPEOPLE... I'm finding the old grove... very comfortable with all of what SP is about. Community, friends, tools that are so very helpful.
I'm truly looking forward to BLC23. I've never been a part of a challenge. But I love the different interaction with other and the fun competition between teams and team members. The support is welcomed and I hope to support and encourage all for the best outcome.
Just an update, I've put 40 of my 90 lost back on... so not happy with myself and as usual I blame myself for not putting myself first. It's a pattern in my life but at least I didn't wait 25 years this time... I'm back at it and so much happier.
A New Life, Loving the PNW
Wow... I've been at this for 13 months... May 12, 2010. The visit to a dr that changed my life. After a scare of Melanoma skin cancer with NO support from a spouce of 38 year... I chose to change my LIFE. I started walking June 30, 2010. I started to change my eating when I realized my life connections with cancer.
Now I'm at 90 pounds lost... 152,,, WOW.
I've been a member of SparkPeople for 6+ months having joined Aug 29, 2010 at the weight of 218. SP came into my life at just the right time. I'd already started to change my life due to an issue with melanoma skin cancer in March 2010. I started my life changing journey in May of 2010 with a visit to a new physician. A former oncologist who asked all of the right questions encouraging me to come up with the answers. I started changing my diet and then moved into exercising. Tipping the scale at 242 then, his influence in my journey to a better life was truly life saving.
I currently weigh in at 170, I have not seen the 160's since before children, 32+ years ago. My journey includes good choices to be made daily but also knowing I won't deprive myself. If I feel like pizza I find a way to incorporate it into my meal plan for the day. Having gluten issues I've recently found a gluten free pizza crust made with rice flour. Adding it all up and to the nutrition tracker with SparkPeople it's all working out.
I have also entered into a new life living alone, the divorce should finalize sometime in April 2011. Moving to a new community and joining voluteer actities in the new area. Also continued exercise joining a local gym, I'm there every day with the exception of the occasional day when other activities call.
With SparkPeople in my life and the friends I've made here I can say that life is good and will only be getting better.
Goal... to be healthier for the rest of my life... I'm finally in One-derland and will continue to proceed downward and I've finally found a short term goal, to get into those size 14 jeans. DONE!!! Feb 11, 2011
I use the nutrition tracker on SP, which I love, also the fitness tracker to see how far I've walked.
SparkPeople has turned into my program. I was kinda winging it before but now I've got a greater sense of where I'm going and SP has helped tremendously. So many tools and so much support, I found SP just at the right time in my life changing journey.
I'm a retired 911/Fire/medical dispatcher... I love the pacific northwest... I've dealt with melanoma in the last year which has pushed me to eat better and exercise more and try to get my immune system in better shape.
I have twin sons, age 31, they are licensed electricians in business together in No Cal. I have a grand puppy, yellow lab named Murphy and that's about as close to a grand kid as I think I'll get, lol.
