Thanks for the comment! Personally, I think if you have the perseverance to quit smoking, you have the perseverance for anything. That's no easy task.
Let me know if you find any great local places to run. I'm not loving the squishy feet when it's raining, but once I get into it, I find I don't really notice it. Right now the thing I like the most about the indoor track is that it's level and I don't have to think about where my next turn is going to be. I'd love to find an outdoor place with the same feature. I hear the there's a loop that includes the Waterfront Park and I've been thinking about giving that a shot once I get to week 4 of the training program. Sorry for the delay responding to your comment on my blog. Classes started on the 9th and promptly set me back a few weeks. I think I'm getting back on track. Anyhoo, the indoor track I use is at Portland State's rec center. I don't know if you have any PSU affiliation, but if you do, you might check out the cost of membership. For me, it's included in my tuition and fees. I've been looking for some easily accessible outdoor places as well.
