My Great Adventure!!! :)

Hi, I am Laura and the fluff ball in the picture is Jake. He was my walking buddy but is now becoming my running buddy! He is the best, very flexible and never gets tired and is always ready to go or stop when I am! LOL!

I am also a mother to three sweet children ages 11, 9 and 5. We also have a house & backyard full of animals! In the backyard area we have 5 chickens (1-rooster 4-hens), 2 goats w/their kid. Inside the house there are 2 kittens, 2 puppy-dogs and a canary. ...

I had always been thin ... that is until after three children or was it turning 40 four years ago that did me in??? LOL It really doesnt matter, with Gods grace I am not going to let the weight stay on if I can discipline myself to eat right and exercise like I used to when I was younger, before hubby and children.

I look forward to getting all my pictures loaded and to really get started here! That is one of my goals for January!

1.) Set Written Goals ... What has been written is in my 12/8/06 Blog Entry to the left here. :)
2.) I will EAT plenty of healthy foods and WILL NOT starve myself ... Low calorie is NOT always best
3.) I will Exercise daily alternating cardio and strength training.
4.) I will Walk/Run daily following my training schedule for the Nashville Country Music 1/2 marathon at the end of April.

My family and I live in the warm SunShine State ... The weather is getting warmer but not yet hot. People are beginnign to get prepared for the Hurricane Storms.

Hi Laura, I am new to this group ands from my search it seems you also live in FL. I live in Valrico which is just outside of Brandon. Do you live anywhere near that. I am looking for a Buddy that can motivate me and I can motivate them. Let me no if you are interested. I have about 30lbs to lose.

Yeah, Laura! Thanks for adding me as a friend and congrats on figuring it out. Sorry I wasn't able to respond earlier but I wasn't on the computer much this weekend.
I've learned that if I exercise and keep moving most of the time plus eating relatively healthy that the weight does come off. I am sure that there will be plateaus but for now I am happy that I am at the lightest weight I have been in years.

P.S. No word from Conrad yet - do you think that I should e-mail him again? We are starting a BLC with our neighbors for $ so even if he doesn't respond, I will still have extra motivation.

Laura - I DID IT....accomplished my goal of being organized and totally clean by New Years...I know that 2007 will be the year of NEW BEGINNINGS....wishing you the very BEST and as much absolute joy as your heart can hold....even to overflowing! Terri
