Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my Spark Page!

I started my journey to better health in the spring of 2008 after I began seeing a chiropractor. I didn't know how much I could improve, both mentally and physically.
Chiropractic addresses health issues by maximizing the body's natural ability to heal and maintain it's own health. Chiropractic also places an emphasis on nutritional and exercise programs, wellness and lifestyle modifications for promoting physical and mental health..

It was only when I prepared the comparison images, joininig side by side the pics taken at the chiropractor's
office, that I really realized how much I had changed in the past 12 months. As you can see yourself, not only more than 20 kg (44 pounds) make a dramatic difference, but also the poor posture is by far improved.

My diet includes: raw vegetables, raw fruits, sprouts, legumes, steamed vegetables, whole grains, brown rice, fish. Organic whenever possible or affordable.

I sip a lot of green tea daily. This is a very healty beverage because contains a large amount of polyphenols.

Exercise: I walk several miles a day, some weight training too

emoticon Hi again!
You know me; I've been reading again... emoticon
I just read that a spoonful of cooked black rice packs the same amount of anthocyanins as a spoonful of fresh blueberries, but with less sugar and more fiber and vitamin E. I'm not sure that rice is a fruit substitute in that case though; I'll have to give that some food for thought!
emoticon I'm waiting impatiently for the spring sunshine to come; emoticon I know it's out there somewhere, it just hasn't broke through our continual thick cloud cover yet.

I hope you are getting some nice weather where you are! Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

emoticon Hello again, I'm back to see how you are doing and to let you know I'm thinking of you.

Here's my tip for today:
You can't be happy all of the time; but you can focus your thoughts on happy things such as family, friends, job, hobbies, or whatever you find important.

Sparkpeople has a great selection of positive articles and comments, here's one of my favorites: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/quotes

I hope you have a really great week!

Hi, it's been a while since I've stopped by your page to check on you so I thought I'd take a quick moment; how are things going for you?

I read somewhere that one lady stacked empty butter cartons on top of each other as she lost the weight so that she could see what it looked like. Now I picture every pound of my excess weight as a brick of butter; which is also pure fat. So any weight I lose, I mentally stack in the corner of my mind to remind me what it looks like.

Hey... Keep reminding yourself how hard you worked and that you deserve to lose for your efforts; and by all means, keep on keeping on!

emoticon Hi !
It's December already; can you believe it? November and December are the busiest months for me (besides July and August and September!) It seems the Holidays bring our friends and families closer and we spend more time visiting, and entertaining during these two months than any others; lots of Holiday preparation going too!

I find that I don't often get an opportunity to get around to Sparkpeople as much, but I try to stay focused as much as possible. Sometimes my good friend Will Power (who is always a welcome guest) doesn't show up until 'after' dinner, but I'm working on that as well.

I hope things are going well for you and you don't find yourself too busy to take care of yourself. You are the most important person in your life!

Keep in touch!
