The following are quotes special to me:

"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, ''Wow... What a ride!'' ''

And an even BETTER version!

I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.
― Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"The Will of God will never lead you where the Grace of God cannot keep you."

"God doesn't Call the Qualified, He Qualifies the Called!!!"

Let the words of my mouth & the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength & my Redeemer. ~ Ps 19:14

Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - It has no point!

"Success is not a destination, it's a journey."

If you never fail, you're not trying hard enough.

"Successful people have an abundance mentality."

"Integrity is never being ashamed of our reflections. "

Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?

"A good laugh is sunshine in a house"

"Character gets you out of bed; commitment moves you to action. Faith, hope & discipline enable you to follow through to completion."

Patience avoids a problem; kindness creates a blessing. One is preventive; the other is proactive.

"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it."

Fear is leaving my body as I push myself to do what I know I was meant to do!

Are you a Fan of Jesus or a Follower?

Fans dont mind him doing a little touch-up work,
but Jesus wants complete renovation.

Fans come to Jesus thinking tune-up,
but Jesus is thinking overhaul.

Fans think a little makeup is fine,
but Jesus is thinking makeover.

Fans think a little decorating is required,
but Jesus wants a complete remodel.

Fans want Jesus to inspire them,
but Jesus wants to interfere with their lives.

So loved reading your music comments! Yes, music is so very enriching... it's a huge part of my life.

In answer to your question.... Long history of musicians. Grandfather played the piano at silent movies and had a gorgeous tenor voice (so I am told :). Mom loved to sing and her high school teachers called her "Dorothy with the beautiful vouce." She also loved piano and played till she died. Her sister also enjoyed music and as a young college girl would sneak away at night and sing with local black bands at clubs, lol. She was a hoot.

I started piano in 4th grade and fell in love with it. Still play from time to time. I'd love to take lessons again. I've enjoyed singing since childhood, and my most exciting vocal experience was singing in the chorus several years with the Dallas Opera. Now I teach early childhood music.

My daughters were in choir and orchestra. Gratefully, they still love music as adults. Married daughter's kids into lots of music... One is into Irish whistle lessons and an Irish whistle organization; 2 are in Suzuki piano and a large children's choir in Dallas; and 2 are in Suzuki violin. It's been wonderful to see their love for music take off in such meaningful ways.

I bet you didn't expect such a lengthy response, did you? Nor did I, actually. I'm just blessed at how music has encircled my family for several generations. I know we're not alone, certainly. Music has given so much life to countless people, hasn't it? For no telling how many thousands of years.

Thanks for your interest... As you no doubt surmise, I could talk about music ad infinitum. ;)
