How many times can I possibly "start again"? Well I guess as many times as it takes to succeed. I don't want to quit by any means, and although I've had my share of stumbles and falls....I'm still ready to get back up and try again. The older I get the more I realize that this is not a race to the finish line and then I'm done, this is an ongoing steady pace that I need to follow and it won't really end until the day I die.

In 1999 I started exercising and eating right and I went from a size 18 to a size 8! Then something happened. I got bored with the routine, got tired of always having to worry about what I eat, had some stressful situations, etc... I started slacking and eat-cheating and one thing led to another and I gained some of my weight back. Then I had an accident which left me with bulging and herniated discs in my neck and in a lot of pain. That took me under! I ate for comfort. I had neck surgery and had to learn what I could and could no longer do in the form of exercising. It was a hard phase to go through, but I've come out on the other side knowing I am blessed to still be able to do all that I can!

Today is a new day and I have a choice as to what I do with it. I am in control of my decisions and no one else can do this for me. I have to do it for myself. I feel so much better both mentally and physically when I eat right and exercise. I want to live a long, happy, healthy life and it's up to me, along with God' help to make that a reality. I choose ME!

Today, I am 10-lbs away from my initial goal, and I definitely want to lose that before Memorial Day weekend. But ultimately, my goal is to be fit and healthy!

My Goals:
I want to get back down to a size 8 by Memorial Day weekend and feel good in my swimsuit this summer!

My Program:
I am working out with a personal trainer 1 day a week and trying to get my butt in the gym over my lunch hour to do some cardio. I'm also trying to eat clean and eat smaller portion sizes.

I love the Eating For Life recipes by Bill Phillips. If you haven't seen these, check them out at your local library. The success stories in them are very encouraging!

If you want a partner in the battle against emotional eating, you are ON! This is definitely the month to do it. Check back with me from time to time (as often as you like) and let me know how it's going. OK? :-)
