No one told me there'd be days like these...
as the song goes...All of a sudden I am an old lady and I have put on heaps of weight!!! I am still laughing, because it was a surprise!!
I turned 60 and then it all happened!!!? post menopause. bad back, sore feet, the list could go on...and on...the main problem is that I have Hashimoto's disease of the thyroid, so I have slow metabolism, type 2 diabetes, fatigue. Must beat it though! and with the help from Sparkpeople I hope to make it!!! Vintage model
Lose 20 kg.
Walk 20 minutes daily.
Give up chocolate,
Stick to 1500 cals only.
Have low cal meals prepared and in fridge.
Join and attend a social group.
I am still over the place!

Divorced for 26 years, so consider myself a single parent for 20 yrs. Children married, own homes now. My pets got old. Emptying a life-time of clutter and things from my home (work in progress, I am a bit of a hoarder of memories)
On my own now...interests, the web - medical, nursing info, psychology, low cal cooking, gardening, reading, music - all types, art history, painting and drawing, art galleries, Christian- spirituality of Eckanker, meditation, the intenet, writing a journal, family and friends. exercising...(that's a joke!)
Walking along the beach...well - struggling to do so. photography, craft.

Hey! guess what?? I am down to 90.6 kgs!! I went on a short cruise with the family. the first time I have experienced it! The food was so fat free, choices of fresh fruits, salads, grills, chicken, rice, etc. I ate sensibly as I did not want to gain the weight. I walked around the deck, I got lost all of the time, so it took me 40 mins to find my way to anywhere. The rocking of the ship also burned up more energy. ( I should live on a cruise ship, because you have to walk everywhere ( it is also wheelchair friendly). My son paid for my fare, as I am on pension. We all had a great time, I took travel-calm sea sick tablets, so I had no nausea. I had a few cocktails, an icecream and a few deserts. On the whole, I was not a guts as I could lhave been. Thanks to the encouragement from my Spark friends. Thanks. Hope all is well with you all, I have to eat correctly and walk a bit now that the excitement of the holiday is over. hmmmmm do not want to go back to old habits. Love, Old Vintage

I too am having to 'Get back up' today, yet again. Slipped and fell into a bag of sweet potato chips last night.
But for me, it is the only way I will ever get through this. Just get back up!
