I am a mother who always put my 4 kids and husband first. My kids range in age from 16 to 4 yrs. So this has been going on for a long time. I have no idea what inspired me to take a second look at my health it just happened one day. I first decided to quit smoking ( after 20 + years). Then about a week smoke free I was sitting on my laptop in the kitchen and munching down a bag of chocolate almonds... not even realizing how many I was eating. My hubby walked passed me and said "just because you quit smoking , don't think your gonna turn yourself into a beached whale"... WOW, at first I thought what a jerk.... then I actually thought about the meaning behind his words. I was already overweight as it was and now I was munching on even more junk to help the addiction to smokes. Instantly, I put down the chocolates and started creeping the net for weightloss programs, found sparkpeople and bam was instantly taken in by everything I was seeing, the tools available, the articles to read and the people who are so helpful. So now I have quit smoking, started a healthy lifestyle, incorporated exercise into my life (before a walk to the store to get smokes and pop was my workout routine). The hardest thing though is taking the time for ME. I feel guilty when my husband gets home from working all day, has dinner then I say, well i am off for a bike ride watch the kids. I have to remember though that he is their father too and I don't have to be here every single minute of the day. My youngest starts school in September so this will also get me used to being out in the world on my own again without someone beside me every second of the day.

My goal is to lose 45 pounds. I have recently quit smoking and would like my goal to be to stay that way as well.

My Program:
Just paying attention to what goes in my body and what I burn. I have never been on a diet in my life so I am lost... trying to drink lots of water (cause someone told me it was good when your trying to lose weight) and drinking less coffee.

I love true crime novels, true crime tv shows, grays anatomy, big brother, modern family, criminal minds and will usually watch just about any reality tv program.

    emoticon emoticon to Spark. Thanks for adding me. I see we have a lot in common. I don't have as many kids but I have been dealing with kids all my life. I have been married for 18 years today actually. My life revolves around my family. I always put them first and Yes I feel quilty when I take time for myself. I stopped smoking 4 years ago. There are times when I would kill for one but I know I feel better and the $$$!!! That's enough to help from picking them back up. emoticon TOO!!!
    I also see you are in the group for undereaters, people think that's strange that we can get this big UNDEREATING. I not just undereat but I was eating the WRONG stuff. Spark Nutrition tracker has helped open my eyes so much. I glad to see you here. If I can help in any way, just give me a shout out. emoticon If I don't have the answer I will do my Best to help you find it. emoticon
