You have to eat to live, but I don't believe that food should be mere sustenance. Food should be a pleasure to eat as well as healthful. I love to travel, and I don't buy designer bags or clothes - I enjoy regional cuisine and adventure! I want to be able to enjoy food, explore the countryside and be healthy doing it.

I agree - the characters were a bit kooky but totally believable. I never missed an episode!

Thank you for the Spark Goodie. Yes, life has been a bit too challenging even for me, and I've got pretty broad shoulders. We were suppose to leave tomorrow morning for Wyoming - but we canceled our trip yesterday. My husband has received unfavorable results from one of his blood tests - and you might say that was the straw that broke the camel's back. He's retaking the test in a moth - hopefully some "clean" living and a bit of exercise will bring that test back into normal range. But we both just looked at each other and were thinking the same thing - just not time to be so far away from home right now. Way too much stress to manage - and then to be in a small cabin together with all this hanging over us. At least at home we can go about our regular routines and things feel sort of normal! It is fall colors here in Minnesota - we'll probably take a day and drive up north to enjoy them.
Thanks again. I surely appreciate the support. Where are you going for your vacation?

First of all, thank you so much for both the Spark goodies you have sent me. They were so appreciated, especially right now. I just really don't understand why people feel they have the right to make comments about things they have no idea about - I will always offer my opinion if asked, if not asked then I have no opinion!
Yes, I am very glad we decided to go to Wyoming. After this week I believe both Tom and I will need it. My heart hurts for my daughter-in-law, she is so young for having to deal with so much. She's the oldest of 3 siblings and has always had to be in charge; I'm sure her father is beyond devastated and probably not much support right now. It's also too bad that my husband's ex & step-daughter feel the need to use circumstances like these to go out of their way to make me uncomfortable. We just buried his mother in June and they were in top form. I'm not even sure why his ex felt it was appropriate for her to attend - but neither of these women have any barriers when it comes to other people!
Thanks for your kind words and support. I'll be thinking about each and every one of my wonderful spark friends tonight - it will help me cope remembering that there really are good people in the world!

Yes, hard boiled eggs would have been a good thing! We are going on vacation in a week and I'm already thinking about food I can bring that will be healthy and easy to manage while driving and while we are there. We're staying in a cabin with a small kitchen so I can bring some frozen food that I've made earlier - I always have some of that on-hand for those days I don't feel like cooking.
You are an inspiration to me taking such care with what you eat!
