My Goals:
You have to eat to live, but I don't believe that food should be mere sustenance. Food should be a pleasure to eat as well as healthful. I love to travel, and I don't buy designer bags or clothes - I enjoy regional cuisine and adventure! I want to be able to enjoy food, explore the countryside and be healthy doing it.


My Program:
Low grain/starch and exercise.

- Home cooked meals. One dining out option per week.
- 90g protein minimum
- 80g carbs maximum
- Clean eating - high quality vegetables, protein and fruits
- Minimal processed foods
- Low to no sugars
- Low glycemic fruits
- Occasional breads or starches, if desired.
- Sweet treat rarely.
- One glass of wine, if desired
- 30mins light to moderate exercise 4x per week
- 2 hours extended exercise on weekend (hiking, biking, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, etc)

    I believe it about being in Georgia. I lived for 1 1/2 years in the Panhandle of Florida - it was nice to be able to go outside whenever you wanted all year round but I really missed the winter. However, THIS weather is just too much. Daisy keeps wanting to go outside and of course I need to go with her - I think she's just checking to see if it's warmed up yet or if the snow is gone. And no walks for several days with no break in this ahead probably until the holidays - she's one sad puppy! And yes, I think the cold weather does cause the pain to be stronger. I have to go out tonight and I'm just dreading it but Tom will warm up the car for me which will help!

    Are you getting settled? My cousin lives just outside of Denver and I really love it there.

    I'm so glad to hear that things are starting to come together for you. I've lived in my home for 34 years - I can't even imagine what it would take to leave here, although that day may come eventually. We bought a few pieces of furniture this week and just trying to get that room rearranged was a big chore!

    We had a very nice Thanksgiving, it was a lot more work than I'd remembered - it's been a few years since I've made Thanksgiving dinner. But it was all good. I don't have a lot to do to get ready for Christmas, we don't buy gifts for the kids anymore, just the Grandkids; and they are all still young enough to easily please! Next week I'll put up a few decorations to set the mood a bit.

    I hope your doing well.... I'm presently resisting the heavenly smell of everything bagels with cream cheese in the break room, sigh. I've not had a bagel in a year. I know it will make me feel crummy so....keep plugging along!

    lol, yes! 'that's it!!?!?!'
    I added the monthly chart recently, so I could excuse myself for getting bogged down in the details.
    An weight across the month is a bit different is a little easier to swallow than only being down 4lbs from the last day of the prior month.

    I've been calorie restricting since April, with only about 4 respites. I guess it's time for another one. I know I've got a long way to go, so I shouldn't get impatient and try to push it too much.
    Physically, I'm still feeling great, and that should be enough to keep me happy for now.
