A new me in 2009

I'm off to a good start for the new me. It's taking a while, but I knew that it would. All good things are worth waiting for, right? I want to be thinner, yes; but more importantly I want to be healthier, more active, and leaner.

I've joined the gym at the Wellness Center, so that should help facilitate the weight loss; along with joining Weight Watchers (again).

What I know:
- I didn't put this weight on overnight, it will not come off overnight.

What I know:

- I need to do this for me, but also for my son. Alex deserves having his mother around for several more years (boy, oh, boy - does he ever deserve it!)
- With the help and encouragement of my good Lord and Savior, of good friends (some of whom have been found here at SP), and my family, this is something that I WILL accomplish.

I have arrived (well, I'm on my way)!

emoticon Hello again, I'm back to see how you are doing and to let you know I'm thinking of you.

Ever wonder what people 'used' to do to get rid of dandruff? Me either, but I'm going to share it with you anyways! LOL
I myself used this formula to lighten my hair, but now that I'm older, I find I already have light hair! LOL

They used a natural rinse made from 3 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice and a cup of water or massaged salt all over the scalp before shampooing!
I hope you have a really great week! I have really missed you!

Hi, it's been a while since I've stopped by your page to check on you so I thought I'd take a quick moment; how are things going for you? i REALLY miss you!

I read somewhere that one lady stacked empty butter cartons on top of each other as she lost the weight so that she could see what it looked like. Now I picture every pound of my excess weight as a brick of butter; which is also pure fat. So any weight I lose, I mentally stack in the corner of my mind to remind me what it looks like.

Hey... Keep reminding yourself how hard you worked and that you deserve to lose for your efforts; and by all means, keep on keeping on!

Hi!

I'm just passing through this time with this strange bit of trivia...

You're not going to believe this, but I just read that chewing gum is a brain booster! Seriously! The Researchers at Northwestern University found that people who chew gum have increased blood flow to the brain and an increase in cognitive performance. Moreover, people who chew gum have less stress, which protects brain cells from stress related hormones. The researchers recommended chewing gum particularly when you have challenging mental work to do.

Who knew?

emoticon Hi !
It's December already; can you believe it? November and December are the busiest months for me (besides July and August and September!) It seems the Holidays bring our friends and families closer and we spend more time visiting, and entertaining during these two months than any others; lots of Holiday preparation going too!

I find that I don't often get an opportunity to get around to Sparkpeople as much, but I try to stay focused as much as possible. Sometimes my good friend Will Power (who is always a welcome guest) doesn't show up until 'after' dinner, but I'm working on that as well.

I hope things are going well for you and you don't find yourself too busy to take care of yourself. You are the most important person in your life!

Keep in touch!
