My Journey to Wellness
Today is October 20, 2012. I have been a member of this community for many years with limited success. This is not the fault of SparkPeople; it is my own. I turned 41 earlier this month and once again I rededicated myself to getting to a healthier weight. The photos on this page may be a little dated but I am roughly the same weight. Today is October 20, 2012. I have been a member of this community for many years with limited success. This is not the fault of SparkPeople; it is my own. I turned 41 earlier this month and once again I rededicated myself to getting to a healthier weight. The photos on this page may be a little dated but I am roughly the same weight. Anyway, I have made some fundamental changes to how I am approaching weight loss and hope that this time it works. Wait. Hope is not a plan. I plan to succeed this time. If I find I am not successful then it will be an obvious sign that I need to tweak something and that's okay. My Goals:
Outcome Based Goal I will get to 190 by the end of 2013. Behavior Based Goals I will drink at least 64 oz. of water every day. Why? Because I know myself and if I drink a lot of water I tend to take better care of myself. I will be quantifiably more active during the day. Why activity? Well, to burn calories, of course. Currently I'm struggling with finding the time. I will eat healthy foods for fuel most of the time. If I eat something purely for pleasure I will not beat myself up; I will enjoy the meal and get back on track with the next thing I put in my mouth.
My Program:
I am counting calories, with an emphasis on higher protein, complex carbohydrates, and vegetables.
Personal Information:
I love to read, watch football, make cocktails and excellent food. I have two cats, three kids (one grown) and am happily single. Who needs a man? (Not me.)
