I am a 55 yr old female who is on disability and gaining weight. My belly looks like I'm 6mos pregnant. I have always been petite-5'-4" and up until last year when I stopped my cleaning jobs I was weighing between 115-120 lbs. Except for some physical limitations, I am healthy, eat healthy, and have never had to be concerned about my weight until now. A friend mentioned this website, so I joined Spark People and have been tracking my excercise and meals on a daily basis. I am not seeing any results and feel very discouraged. I get 9-12 hrs of sleep almost every day so my breakfast is usually eaten at lunch time, which of course makes me want to eat up until 10pm at night. I usually can't go to sleep until after midnight. I have even tried going to the Gym at night. I have been walking (either outside or treadmill at gym )1-2 miles almost every day. Some exercises and even stretches I cannot do because of my right shoulder. I have been having osteopathic manipulations once a month for the past 10 years. I use to own my own cleaning business and worked very hard, yet no more than one job a day, and slowly cut back on that too. I would appreciate any feedback from people who can identify with my frustration. There are not too many people that understand that weighing 120lbs most of my adult life and now weighing 137 lbs with a huge belly is a problem. Looking forward to hearing from some of you.

My Goals:
I would love to lose 15-20 lbs and flatten my jelly belly to a size 7/8 jean size.

My Program:
I am eating a lot of what is suggested and stay pretty much within my goal range as suggested by this program. I have been tracking my food for over 3 weeks now, also excercise. I look at the reports available and am well within the nutrition levels. I am just not seeing any results and feeling a little discouraged

    Just re-read your "spark mail" of last April. Your message is still poignant and insightful...maybe that is why I haven't been able to click "delete". Everyday, one step at I time, I'm getting stronger and more able to cope with obstacles placed in my path. Support from persons like yourself help make that easier.

    I know how people react when you tell them what you have weighed and what you now weigh. I am 5' 1" and most of my life I weighed between 95-100 lbs. If I tell anyone I now weigh 120 and need to lose at least 10 lbs. they don't understand. I did lose down to 100 in 2008 but gained about 20 lbs. back. I, too, have two rolls of flab around my middle. I'm trying to do more strength training. Do you have a Wii Fit Plus? That was good for me for strength because you can pick just the exercises you can do in strength. I am also trying to get back to doing balance on the wii because at almost 67 I need that. I love doing Walk it Out for Wii but that was about all I was doing because I loved it. But I am going to do less because SparkCoach said not to do the same exercises all the time.
