First step on a journey...
I have been struggling with my weight and body image for most of my life. I fluctuate pretty wildly every couple of years - pretty wildly meaning 15 - 20 pounds - which on a 5'3" frame is pretty significant. I want to finally get down to a reasonable weight and maintain it for the long haul. I think that the weight issues hold me back from doing/focusing on much more important things. I am currently in on of those swing states - I recently lost about 15 pounds - but still have more to go. ...
I am trying to get strong and functionally fit. I run, swim, hike, weightlift, and am trying other things like CrossFit - which is quite a challenge. I thrive on challenge though - so I think that this forum is going to be a huge help to me in meeting my fitness goals.

My Program:
For cardio, I am running, hiking, and swimming 3 -4 times per week. I plan on bumping up my cardio to 5 -6 times pers week. I am also planning to get back into bellydancing - it is fun and works muscles you never knew you had! To improve my run and swim times, I am doing speed training. I have knocked quite a bit of time off - still need to get better though. I also do weight training and calisthenics. I have been focusing primarily on upper-body strength training.
