Feeling Better & Better Everyday

My best friend April, told me about Spark People in 2009 so I thought I would try it too and see if it could work for me.

Thank you April.

I had lost 20 pounds after joining Spark people but then I had some health issues and gained all that back PLUS 33 pounds. I hate the way I look and feel! I need to get back on track and start losing again. I am sick and tired of being overweight!

I am now back on track. I have lost 14.2 pounds in the 3 weeks that I have been back tracking my calories through Spark People. For the 1st time in at least a couple years I am under 200 pounds and while I don't see the weight loss yet I do feel it in my clothes.

I am staying motivated and even exercising. I even have my husband helping me. I actually told him my real weight and everything. something I would have never done before. I guess that shows how serious I am about this.

I guess it's about time I update.

I am still on track and motivated. Today marks 2 months that I have been following my program (with the exception of slacking off on exercise the last 3 weeks) but I started back up on that 2 days ago. I had to figure out a way to get my exercise back in m routine after I started working again 3 weeks ago.

Anyhow, I am super happy to announce that in just 2 short months I am down 28.2 pounds and feeling better everyday. My birthday present to myself is to be down 30 pounds by March 27th. I am so close but I am running out of time. My birthday isn't until the 29th but I will see some of my friends that saw me at my heaviest back in December and I want to be down 30 or more when I see them.

Obviously, I still have long way to go to get to my ultimate goal but I am on track to reach that goal on time and I am staying super motivated.

Thank you Spark people for making this so easy.

Todays weigh in puts me at exactly 21 pounds lost in 5 weeks and 2 days. I am remaining ahead of my weekly goal of 2 pounds lost per week by averaging 4 pounds lost a week. At this rate I am sure to hit my goal and be down to at least 115 by 12/16/2014.

I found that pounds 17, 18 & 19 were the most difficult so far. I hit a couple plateaus, small ones but still plateaus where I stayed at the same weight or went up & down a 1/2 a pound to 1 1/2 pounds for a few days but I stuck with it and got past those.

I am down a size in pants now too! I bought this pair of pants over a year ago, thinking they were my size. When I bought them I couldn't get them up to the top of my thighs. I have been trying them on like every 5 days and slowly I was able to get them on but no where close to being able to button or zip them. Even pulling my hardest I had at least 1 to 2 inches of space between button and button whole. Even 3 days ago when I tried them last I had at least an inch. Well I tried them today and not only did I get them buttoned but I got them zipped. They are a little snug but not bad. I put them on standing and didn't have to struggle. I have had pants that I had to lay down and suck my gut in to get on. I am also noticing that my thighs aren't rubbing together when I walk as bad as they use to. Still rubbing but not nearly as bad.

To say I am excited, no more then ever would be a huge understatement. To actually be able to see the results in clothes fitting that didn't fit and were no where close to fitting is amazing to me. To see the scale showing lower and lower #'s was amazing in and of itself but now to see it in clothing just increases my motivation. I can't wait for the next size down to fit.

Feeling accomplished a little more everyday!

I haven't posted in a bit but I have still been working my program.

I am so very happy to announce that I have reached my 2nd goal and am down at least 20 pounds. I am actually down 20.6 pounds.

The last couple pounds I have lingered at each pound for a couple days, even to the point I was starting think I wasn't going to lose more but I did.

I lost another inch off my hips as well. I am not sure why I am losing so many pounds at not many inches. It's not making sense to me. All I can think is I am losing it in places I can't measure like my booty, breasts and face!

Anyhow, I am excited that this is still working so well for me and I can't wait to reach my next goal of another 20 pounds lost. I am already 1/2 a pound into that goal.

MOMMATOCONNOR2003 - I just thought about something else.

If you are burning more calories them your are taking in on a consistant basis, your body is trying to store whatever your taking in because your are burning to many calories and your body till needs its nutrition.

Maybe cut bac emoticon k a little on the exercise. emoticon

MOMTOCONNOR2003, Thank you.

10 pounds in 4 weeks is good. Everybody hits plateaus but don't given up. I gave up when I hit a plateau in 2009, the 1st time I worked this program and I so regret it. Not only did I gain back the 25 pounds I had lost but I gain more then 33 more pounds. It's not easy.

I am thinking that working out an hour a day is building muscle that weighs more then fat so that could be part of the reason you aren't loosing as much as you think you should.

I am trying to keep my meals balanced. I have a plan called the food lovers diet. With that I learned to eat the right portions of protein, fast carbs and slow carbs and I eat 3 meals a day plus a snack after breakfast, a snack after lunch and a snack after dinner.

I am exercising only 12 to 30 minutes a day and though Spark People recommends I eat 1200 to 1500 calories a day I am keeping my calories between 1000 and 1200, The closer I stay to 1000 the more I loose but am usually between 1050 and 1100. I am staying full and feel like I am always eating.

With Spark People's recommended 1200 to 1500 I would be on track to loose 2 pounds a week. I want to loose it faster so I loosing over 4 pounds a week by slight cutting back the calories to 1000 to 1200.

I think part of the trick (at least for me) is to eat something every 2 to 3 hours. Just smaller portions and mixing the right fast/slow carbs with proteins. It keeps my body in fat burning mode.

Check out Food Lovers.com online. It will help you get a understanding of what I am talking about. They have videos you can watch, that you can really learn from.
