On my way to a healthy middle age
I've live most of my life battling my weight and sluggish metabolism. My first 'diet' was in 3rd grade when the Dr. told my mom she should limit the amount of pasta, bread and potatoes she gave me. I love fresh flavors and I like my food 'naked' without sauces or gravies for the most part. I love trying new things but don't ask me to eat curry! Never have liked the flavor and probably never will.

I just want to be healthy and strong as I move through middle age . I want food to be something I don't have to think about all the time. I want to be able to be more active to keep fibro pain under control.

My name is Tammy and I live in north central Vermont with my husband, Maine Coon Cat and 2 Basset Hounds. I work at a local Jr/Sr High School in attendance and discipline. Our daughter is a senior in college. I am gluten intolerant and have fibromyalgia. My Velmoose screenname is leftover from when I owned a gift shop called The Velvet Moose. I just liked the name so I decided to keep it even after I closed the store.
Other Information:
Love adventure and sci-fi movies. Love TV and not ashamed to admit it! Our television is often on SyFy, Food Network or Travel channel.
My idea of the perfect vacation is camping in Maine or touring Walt Disney World in Florida.
