I'm gonna fly like an eagle

I've live most of my life battling my weight and sluggish metabolism. My first 'diet' was in 3rd grade when the Dr. told my mom she should limit the amount of pasta, bread and potatoes she gave me. I love fresh flavors and I like my food 'naked' without sauces or gravies for the most part. I love trying new things but don't ask me to eat curry! Never have liked the flavor and probably never will.
update: my daughter got me to try curry and I actually liked it. Must be my taste buds ...

My Program:
eating healthier foods with more veggies and fruits and healthy proteins.

Personal Information:
My name is Tammy and I live in north central Vermont with my husband, Maine Coon Cat and Basset Hound . I work at a local Jr/Sr High School in attendance and discipline. Our daughter recently graduated from college and is living at home until she can earn enough to have her own place.. I am gluten intolerant and have fibromyalgia. My Velmoose screenname is leftover from when I owned a gift shop called The Velvet Moose. I just liked the name so I decided to keep it even after I closed the store.

I love adventure and sci-fi movies. Love TV and not ashamed to admit it! Our television is often on SyFy, Food Network or Travel channel.
My idea of the perfect vacation is camping in Maine or touring Walt Disney World in Florida.

Hi Tammy! You've joined an energetic and excited team of 50+ Ladies and we're so glad to have you here with us! I'm sorry I haven't welcomed you sooner, I've had a crazy week or so. :) Fortunately, the team is so warm and welcoming that I knew our new members would feel at home.

We're all here here to support and encourage each other on our journey. Changing our habits so we are living a healthy style (and getting - or keepng - those buns up where they belong) may not be easy, but it can DEFINITELY be fun!

I hope you'll jump right in to our chat thread and maybe check out the challenge threads as well. The "NAME YOUR GAME" Jump-Start challenge is great if you need a little extra push to get going! We're happy to have you join us and I hope that you'll find lots of encouragement and motivation.

Please let any of the team leaders know if you need anything!
emoticon See you on the board!

Thanks for adding me as a friend. Keep heading toward your goals. But, one step at a time. If you look at the whole thing sometimes it can get overwhelming. The fibromyalgia hurts. My pain level was always there for years just under the surface and I was physically active despite the pain, Then the pain began to get worse but I kept doing things and ignored it. Then I began to get more tired and painful and gradually became unable to do all the physical stuff and more pain. But, now can't take any pain medication so I live with it and when I've over done then I have to give myself permission to put my feet up and read or whatever. Then I start over again. Can't stay down for long. There's good days and bad days. but it always changes. I just changed hobbies and projects and still productive. Keep going as long as you can -- then youstill keep going with a few changes. And that's okay. Blessings, Echo
