I just turned 53 yrs old this April and one of my goals is to finally get down to goal weight, exercise more, and in general live a healthier life. I started out at 185 back in 03, and am now down to 140, despite a serious back injury that has kept me housebound until recently. I did it by changing one item at a time in my diet, and by adding 5 min of movement every day. I was all ready a vegetarian, but now eat very little sugar, or high starch products, ...
I just turned 53 yrs old this April and one of my goals is to finally get down to goal weight, exercise more, and in general live a healthier life. I started out at 185 back in 03, and am now down to 140, despite a serious back injury that has kept me housebound until recently. I did it by changing one item at a time in my diet, and by adding 5 min of movement every day. I was all ready a vegetarian, but now eat very little sugar, or high starch products, and have started to eat non-processed vegetarian protein sources instead of veggie conv foods. I started out by walking just 5 minutes at a time, and now I am walking 2-5 miles a day at 5 mph. Considering that last fall I was using a cane to assist me with balance and walking, and I now no longer need that prop, I am thrilled to finally be out and about again.

My Goals:
Lose the remaining 10 lbs and become more fit.
My Program:
Eating less starchy carbs, sugar, and highly processed food. Cut out all HFCS including sodas. Exercise at the gym a min of 4 x week

I've been a vegetarian since 1985.
