Well, years of self-neglect takes its toll. I'm here to lose weight, but more importantly, I'm here to help support a major lifestyle change.
I started this journey last October, after spending a few days at Farm Sanctuary (and if you don't know what that is, you should look it up!). I had been a vegetarian (a fat, lazy vegetarian!) for years, but after my trip in October, I turned a psychological corner and made the decision to go vegan.
As it turns out, this decision was key to starting a whole new life for me, and I haven't looked back. Now that I'm eating in a way that's more true to myself, I have been improving myself in other ways, too. I feel like I'm peeling layers off myself -- both physically and psychologically -- to reveal myself as I truly am underneath all the nonsense. It's very liberating.
I'm not naive enough to think this will always be easy; change, as cathartic as it is, can be a bit like single-handedly pushing a truck up an icy hill in the dark. That's why I'm here; I want to support this lifestyle change as much as possible. Like buttressing a building, I'm trying to create as many support systems as possible. I don't have a lot of support for this change in my own social circle, and I've met some great people on this site before. So... I'm always happy to hear from anyone!

190 -- finished c25k!!! I think this is enough of a reward for now... on to 180!
