Hi everyone!

I tell folks, I'm not on a diet, I'm living a healthy lifestyle. This isn't about giving anything up, except bad choices.

Thanks to Michael who got me started down this road and to all of the encouraging folks I've met so far, especially Carleen and Jenn.

My Goals:
My goal is to drop a few more pounds but mostly to continue to live in a healthy way. That means making good choices most of the time and letting myself off the hook when I occasionally make a bad choice.

My Program:
Basically this is what I do -

I'm tracking my food, measuring portions and eating 4 fruits and 4 vegetables a day.

I'm also doing cardio (walk/jog & elliptical) and strength sessions regularly.

I particpate in various teams and try to encourage others.

Personal Information:
I enjoy playing brass music with my friends, and playing piano for my own amusement. Off and on I'm working on a quilt.
I also have started running again after more than 5 years away from it. It's not that I absolutely love running, but it's great exercise you can do anywhere.

Other Information:
Live in North Carolina. Enjoy reading mysteries and history, most American. Current books on the bedside table include a John Adams biography, a lightweight history of Ancient Rome and several murder mysteries.

Joan,
Hi, Thanks for the welcome. I joined your team because I'm virtually walking to meet a sparkfriend across the country - AbbyKate. We are together on another team. She suggested coming on this team to keep track of our walking.
Maybe you can clear me up on something. I'm just 'counting' actual measured miles or approx. measure miles. Like I know my pace and if I walk for 30 min. at my usual pace I've walked about 2 miles. But other than that I'm just counting deliberate walking, even though I wear a pedometer. I figure it should be one or the other. I use the pedometer to log in to America on the Move.
For example I have over 12,600 steps on the pedometer, but deliberate walking only about 2.5 miles. So what do you think is the best way for me to go with this???

HAHA.........No, it wasn't raining where I am (south central PA) but it was a gray, cloudy day and I had to sttle for the treadmil instead of hitting the streets with the dog. I am a sun baby, and if the sun is shining, I am happy. I have friends (in the real world) in California, I'm walking to them. emoticon emoticon
