Becoming Faithfully Fit

Sometimes we lose faith in ourselves and our God-given abilities to become and remain healthy and fit. Since entering my 50s, I have struggled with weight and exercise like no other age previously. For someone who used to spend hours in bodybuilding gyms, I almost no longer recognize myself. But I can start again today to revive those good habits of healthy eating and exercising and achieve the lean, healthy body that I deserve.

For someone who used to spend hours in bodybuilding gyms, I almost no longer recognize myself. But I can start again today to revive those good habits of healthy eating and exercising and achieve the lean, healthy body that I deserve.

I am married with The Brady Bunch -- three of my own children and three of my husband's children -- all grown and out of the house. We now have nine grandchildren under the age of 5 that I try to chase around to help keep in shape. I work two days a week for an airline, keep three of my grandchildren two days and week and sing, write, travel and am involved in community and church work the remainder of my time.

My Goals:
My goal is to renew my mind and think properly in regard to food and exercise and incorporate good habits and sow self-control into my life for a fit, healthy body for life.


My Program:
I am learning what foods work best to satiate me and to speed my metabolism. I am also learning to eat five or six small meals a day to stoke that metabolism. I used to spend hours in bodybuilding gyms, but now I have a goal of walking on my treadmill at least five days a week and strength training three days a week.


Other Information:
I'm a former gym rat and dieter who is struggling at this stage of womanhood. But I am determined to renew my thinking about food and exercise and trying to go it alone. I'm determined to get off the sofa and away from researching and writing on my laptop and get back to spending more time getting lean, healthy and strong again. I started gaining when I got married again after being a single mom to three great children for 25 years. I want more energy to play with my nine grandchildren and to travel the world with my wonderful husband. I work two days a week for an airline, keep three of my grandchildren two days and week and have the rest of the time to enjoy my creative side -- singing and writing, traveling, interior decorating, cooking, gardening, and shopping.
