Hi, I'm Van. I've been described as a firecracker. A golfer, a skiier, a paddler, a Most Valuable Player, a master carpenter, a musician, a poet, an artist, an encourager. Today, I'm wrestling with the real worth of these descriptions, because now I'm spent, ruined. ...again.
It's hard to believe, I've lost two amazing sons. One, a junior firefighter, the other, a symphonic musician. They were 15 years apart, both died at 17 years old. Over the years, I've become increasingly more Heaven-minded. I can't imagine growing old without them, but I'm looking forward to a time when I'll see them again.
I don't think of myself as an extremist, but if there exists a 'spark' in my heart for Jesus, I wouldn't want anything to snuff it out. Rather, fan it to flame. Although I'm shaken, I don't want to turn away from my faith in God, rather continue to trust and worship Him.
May a revival of His loving-kindness spread over us like a wildfire.

As a part of my survivor plan, I'm working on getting in better shape. Eating right. I'm seeing a psychologist and a naturopathic doctor. Praying regularly. I joined a women's gym and attend the Church.
