My 'Spark of Madness' Page

I am an artist, a mom and a wife. I love cairn terriers, I am a sun worshipper, and thrive during spring and summer. I love to create art, and spend time with my family, and I am facing the empty nest soon! I have recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease and hypo-thyroidism. Ugh! My battle is extra hard, but I am trying extra hard to beat the side effects of these issues. All support and encouragement is appreciated.

My Goals:
I am not interested in how skinny I can become, I am way past that, besides I have never been "skinny" in my life. I just want energy and to feel like I know I can!
PS~my willpower is zilch, so feel free to yell at me or whatever to motivate me!


My Program:
 I have been involved with another program for almost two months, paying for it, with out one tenth of the information you offer! I am so excited that my friend found you all! I am following a calorie count diet, and trying to keep it balanced in the proper levels for my health problems. I have gained, remained the same, and lost very little, a total of 5 lbs.

Hon, I went through 200 old Sparkpages last night and sent messages, for one reason and one reason only, which was to hear back from a person like you. I am here for support. There are so many SPARKERS here for support. You are not alone.
I come here every day, because I'm like an old Drunk who needs daily AA Meetings. i say that honestly. I love JUNK FOOD, cookies, ice cream, COKE-A-COLA which I can drink all day long, etc. BUT, I know a triglyceride level of 1200 is NOT good for my body. Yes, at one time I had a count of 1200. The doctor just laughed and said "Well, that is from a person living on a sugar diet." I got it down to 550 and the Navy doctor just said "Well, you have metabolic syndrome." NOW with Sparkpeople, I have it down to 250, and I WILL get it to below 100 because I am doing this for me.
this site is so helpful, Hon. We are all here for you. Even if you only stay the same and don't gain, you are doing better. Hugs. emoticon

If you are an emotional eater, read the book "SHRINK YOURSELF" by ROGER GOULD, M.D. on how to stop the yo-yo cycle. There is a SparkTeam now to discuss his book.
