Prepared to be Amazed

I've been a member since October 2006. To spare you the long story of yo-yo-ing between being an excited participant on SP almost daily to going nearly a year without visiting the site at all, and back again, here's the latest.

I've joined Curves. 30 minutes a day 3 times a week. I have also purchased a small used treadmill and use that at least twice a week for 30 minutes each time.

As far as diet goes...I'm really trying hard to eat more fruits and vegetables ...

As far as diet goes...I'm really trying hard to eat more fruits and vegetables and less sodium and sugar. So far, I'm doing all right, but I'm not completely cutting myself off from sweets. I've learned that's the BAD way of doing it!

They have several catch-phrases at Curves, and one of them is, "Prepare to be amazed." I'm ready. I'm prepared. Let's do it!

My Goals:
* To stick to my Curves exercise plan (plus treadmill, walking, etc.).

*To eat only a little dairy.

*To eat more fruits and vegetables.

*To lose 100 pounds.

*To fit into that "little black dress" at the back of my closet.

*To be able to wear my black "hooker boots" again (they don't zip up anymore).

Personal Information:
I am in a relatively new job (14 months now) that I LOVE. It's very right-brained; I do a lot of writing, reading, and editing, which is what I spent college training to do. I'm doing PR for my alma mater, actually, and I really enjoy it. My hubby and I bought a house in September and adopted a puppy two weeks later.

In my free time I enjoy learning languages, reading, writing, doing random acts of kindness, riding my bike, geocaching, playing games with my hubby and friends, and watching movies. I also enjoy blogging and talking with God while I'm out walking.

I'm also addicted to music. For my high school spring concert senior year I played 5 different instruments. In college, I was involved in five of the seven ensembles available at the time. In fact, I was a music minor. It's a passion of mine that I'm unwilling to give up - I'm still in the college's wind symphony and steel drum band, and am on the music committee at my church.

Other Information:
I believe in God, having fun, communication, spending time in nature, enjoying life, and spending time with people who matter to you. Next thing to add to the list: ME.

emoticon emoticon emoticon Well, with fall in the air and the emoticon summer coming to an end. I know for myself itís time to get back to indoor activities and allowing all of you to become my mentors again. I am not good at being an indoor person in the summer as my Garden, Canning and other activities keep me very busy.

So!! After September I plan to involve myself more on the Daily Chat message boards. There is no better support than what we all give each other to help us reach our goals.

"Take time to explore the site. Become familiar with all the wonderful tools available to help you on your journey, such as the food tracker and the exercise tracker. Also, concentrate on mastering your three 'Fast Break' goals: drinking 8 cups of water per day, going for a walk, not eating in front of the TV...whatever three goals you have chosen. Try to make those goals daily habits over time." I do hope to see more of you and you see more of me as we travel down this Journey of getting healthy and feeling better.
Remember MOTIVATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

Hi, my name is Jessica. i live in Walla Walla, I ran a search, to find people in my area and was told you live within 25 miles. I am looking for walking buddies in my area to just get out there and pound the pavement with me. If you do in fact live close to Walla Walla and have any interest, please look me up on this site and feel free to contact me and get to know me.

I am brand new to this area and lost all my girlfriends who I could call and say "wanna go for a walk?"

I am finding it really hard to find people here to walk with, being new to the area, and not havign a job yet. I am an RN and was injured on the job, so have to take some time off. Walking is perfect for me right now, tho I occasionally jog as well.

emoticon I can't believe I didn't stop by earlier.

this team loves to be active and we go on walks and try to have some event activity,
