My Goals:
SHORT TERM;
1. Lose 25 pounds before Labor Day - met 8/26/07
2. Lose 2nd 25 pounds by Christmas - blew this one!
3. Lose 2nd 25 pounds by 50th birthday (2/18).
4. Track steps with pedometer & try to get 10,000 steps in daily.

LONG TERM:
1. Improved health.
2. Weight loss.
3. Controlling my diabetes.


My Program:
Eating sensibly and thinking about what I'm eating before I actually put it in my mouth! Keeping carbs down to control my diabetes and staying within 1500 to 1600 calories per day as instructed by my doctor.
Track walking with a pedometer aiming for 10,000 steps per day.

Other Information:
Favorites - reading, watching movies especially old ones, spending quiet time alone with a good book. Favorite movies include Gone With The Wind, Casablanca and Dirty Dancing.

I know you want to get to your goal and you can do it. Work on losing five pounds and keeping that off. I've lost FIVE POUNDS, 7 times in the past nine months. That isn't a lot, but I'm getting there and NOT gaining it back.

If you are an emotional eater, read the book "SHRINK YOURSELF" by ROGER GOULD, M.D. on how to stop the yo-yo cycle. There is a SparkTeam now to discuss his book.

Hey Kathy,

Just checking in with you. We're doing awesome with our steps. We are in second place right now. I think once you add your steps for this week, we will be in first place. WooHoo!!! I'm working on getting in more steps every day. We're almost halfway there and we have just over 2 weeks left. We can do it!!
