Hi there. No worries on the poet thing. We all get caught up in real life. The poets I know are all local to Colorado. I used to publish poetry and a lot of the people at the reading are my old authors. It was fun starting with a manuscript and building a beautiful book. It just became complicated and expensive and unsustainable. Anyway, I made a lot of good friends...I like narrative poetry. It doesn't have to be completely linear, but I want it to have some meaning that is attainable to a reader. The poetry schools of symbolism don't appeal in any emotional way to me, so I leave them to others to enjoy.
Thanks for your note and goodie. You're right about the scenery. I'm going to the southern mountains of Colorado. It's a gorgeous drive, and the sun is shining this morning. There's even a poetry reading tomorrow night featuring some of my favorite poets. Yes, I'm a nerd. So I'm looking forward to a good time.
