Let's see....I am a newlywed (9/12/08) and since getting married, I have gained about ANOTHER 10 lbs! I decided it is time to drop that extra weight and the extra weight I had gained before walking down the aisle. It's hard to look at myself in the mirror and feel comfortable with the way I look. I never thought I would let it go this far and I'm scared to death of letting it go further. I was an athlete my whole life (would like to think I still am), but as I get older, all those years of "just getting by" are taking their toll on me. I drink & smoke way more than I ever had in the past and wonder why I have a hard time getting to the gym or eating right....I'm too hungover from the weekend!!!!!!!!!

I was an elite athlete, playing college soccer in my prime. I loved my body then, I definitely still had the "soccer legs" but at least they were toned and not so mushy! I wish I could see that when I look in the mirror now! That's my goal today.....maybe not to be the 122 lbs I was in college, but at least to be toned and in shape. I hate getting on the treadmill and struggling to run a mile at once, knowing that a few short years ago I was able to run 6 at a time! (Reality sucks!)

My husband and I started going to the gym 2 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks we went twice a week. This week, we are hoping to go at least 3 times. Next Tuesday (1/27), my work is beginning a weight loss/fitness challenge. I'm hoping that gives me the extra motivation that I need to stay in the gym and eat right every day of the week, not just M-F. The challenge lasts 10 weeks and I'm hoping to lost at least 10 lbs. One pound a week.....I think that's an obtainable goal! If I hit my goal of 16 lbs. in 10 weeks..... I might just have to reward myself!

I eat pretty healthy during the week, it's jus the crazy weekends that get me. I am trying to limit myself to one night out during the week, instead of 2 or 3 out. That will definitely cut out some calories for me!

During my competition, I have to do at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 5x/wk. Brad and I will hit the gym at least 3x/wk and for the other 2 days, I will use our treadmill at home or walk at work during my lunch hour.
