same hugely fun but rather unhealthy lifestyle, but I've regained all the weight I'd lost being ill

someone should've taken that wineglass off me LONG before this photo was taken!

hi :)
I'm a 19-year-old student in my first year at uni. It's been amazing so far - I love my course, have made some fantastic friends and have basically been having an AMAZING time!

It's suddenly dawned on me however that I'm going to be in my twenties in less than a month, and fun as my lifestyle is, I'm stuck in a rut of bad habits which were pretty normal for a teenager (untidy, hedonistic (night after night of very intense partying followed by the inevitable takeaway and hangover fryup!) and a serial procrastinator - none of my assignments get started til the night before!) but don't translate too well into the adult world.

My twenties are fast approaching and i need to grow up, fast! I've lived a fifth of a century & there's soooooo much I've yet to achieve! :)

I'm not here merely to lose weight or physically shape up. Hopefully this will be the beginning of an epic journey of personal development. I want to fulfill my potential - to be as healthy, happy, beautiful, cultured and sucessful as possible. I want to become the sort of friend I would love to have myself, the type of girl the guy of my dreams would want to be with.

It's no small undertaking, which is why I'm not desperately concerned about calorie intake, gruelling exercise regimes or jumping through hoops at the moment. I've so many ingrained habits it'd be ridiculous to expect myself to change overnight. This is to be a slow, steady, exciting and fulfilling odyssey. Sure, there'll be hurdles, slip ups, hard times, but this is LIFE. Everything is a learning opportunity, and helps one to grow.

Watch out world!!!

Other Information:
I've very little patience with myself and normally give up at the first hurdle. I want these lifestyle changes to be permanent so my goal is to start gently and ease myself into a routine, then build on it once the new healthy habits are firmly established :)

    Hey that's awesome!

I've been a member for a while - toyed around with it about a year ago when my boyfriend was trying to get fit. I let it go for too long and now it's ME that needs to lose the weight! I think within 6 months I'll see a noticeable difference. I've been going good for about three weeks and I'm feeling great!! The whole water drinking task has made a huge difference in my skin. :)

    How about you? How long?

Thanks for your comment on my blog. The training isn't terribly gruelling. The program goes just fast enough to challenge you. Every time the time increases, I dread it, but then it's easier than I thought it would be. You are going to do great!
