My Weight loss Journey

Hi, I'm Leah. I live in Greeneville, TN. I have only lived here for 3 months. I am originally from California (near San Francisco). I am looking for friends on spark people who are supportive of my goals as well as motivated to achieve their own so that we can encourage eachother on our weight loss journeys.

My Program:
 i am using the default food and excercise trackers from sparkpeople's website as well as re-thinking my food habits to make smarter and more nutricous choices, as well as adapting some of the information i've learned from past diets. Also, i plan on watching my portions because my weight has gotten out of hand, i have come to the realization that this problem parallels my ever increasing portions of un-healthy foods.

Personal Information:
I reside in Greeneville, TN
I am 6'1 and am about 200+ overweight, I am here to fix that. In the past i would lose 80 pounds then platua and give up, I'm not goign to give up this time, i'm going to take a more active aproach!

Other Information:
 I like to read, i miss school (i'm on an involuntary hiatus while i work on establishing residency so i can have access to in-state rates). I like to read, watch t.v., i want to get more active, i like to swim or just splash around in the water, i love the water.

thank you for the comments =) and yes, i have a huge sweet tooth, but its actually not so bad, because my room mate is very respectful of my diet, and so is my fiancé, so if they eat anything sweet they either do it when i'm not around or don't call attention to it. which is fine, its not actually as hard as i thought it'd be so far. But i know the tough days aren't behind me yet. thanks again for the comments =)

I saw by your comment on another page about the difficulty getting rid of the sweets because of going in with a roommate, and also once that's gone your roommate will probably still want his/her sweets around. What I do with my kids since they like to have a little something sweet from time to time (any time I'll let them) is that we have a cabinet designated the sweet snack cabinet and no one gets in there without permission. Maybe your roommate and you could have a "sweets" cabinet where you keep these temptations out of sight, then you just need to not give yourself permission to go into that cabinet (this was how I cut sugary sweets out of my diet several years ago and ever since then it has not been nearly as difficult to stay away from the temptations.
