Update Jan 2012:
Ran my first half-marathon in October 2011. LOVED the distance! Was injured in a surfing accident a few weeks later and took a month off running (and really, everything) to rest and recover. Now training for my next half in March and contemplating longer races (26.2? Ultra?) in the fall. Love the focus and discipline that training enables me to bring to my fitness, nutrition, and rest habits. Would love to drop another 10 lbs to achieve better racing weight.

I'm a working mom with two-year-old twins at home. I live in New York - with a somewhat chaotic life between work and home and a couple of personal crises in the last two years, I let my weight creep up to waaaay above even my freakout weight.

But I don't want to live this way, or look this way, anymore. I want more energy to play with my kids, I want to protect my health, I want to look great agan, and I want to set the right example for my family in how to lead a healthy life. So here I am. I'm now 16 lbs down so far, with another 15 ish to go... Woo Hoo!!

To maintain a steady state weight of 120-125 with a high degree of fitness.

My Program:
Target 1800-2000 calories per day, depending on exercise that day.

Run 5 days a week. Lift 2 days a week. Walk often.

Make sure I get enough protein (1 g per lb of lean body weight)
