So now I'm back again: mid-way between my lowest weight of the decade at 188 and my highest weight of 215. Any time I get in the mid 190s I get concerned; any time I slide above 200 I get scared! Right now I am scared.

The cheap scale I have registered 205 two weeks ago, which prompted me to exercise and watch portions and sweets intake. This morning the scale is about 202.

Weight loss would be wonderful, and ultimately it is my goal to lose weight. But more important to me right now (and forever) is to get my heart pumping to up the metabolism to ward off diabetes or other physical ailments.

In the past I spent a lot of time recording everything on the Spark trackers. And one can get suckered into reading and writing blogs. I don't expect to be doing much of that this time around. I want to stay focused and "on task" of speaking strictly about my "program" and result and to Oblivion with all the fluff of "being creative."

My Goals:
LONG TERM

Mainly to lose belly fat

Need to lose another 50-40 lbs to be 130-140 .

Maintain that weight (or less) for the rest of my life.

SHORT TERM
Lose 20-30 lbs by January 1, 2017
Maintain a steady 2-3 lb loss every month



My Program:
Increase cardio exercise from 30 min a day 5 x weekly to one hour a day 5-6 x weekly.

Exercises of choice: stationary bike and walking

Add strength training
resistance bands
some light weights
body resistance exercises

Personal Information:
72 years old
diagnosed Type 2 diabetes Dec 7, 2015 which currently is well under control.

Generally good health now and have had excellent health up to this time.

Have been thin and have been fat. This is still the most overweight I've ever been.

I'm a homebody. I'd rather cook for myself than go out to eat. I prefer solitary exercise to joining classes because 1) I enjoy the flexibility to control my time and 2) I'm a bit of a germaphobe when it comes to being with lots of people. Not as bad as MONK, (who BTW is a distant relative,) but I've suffered through too many decades of illnesses picked up by being exposed to sick people.

I am TERRIFIED of bed bugs. UGH! I've never seen one, hope to never see one.


Other Information:
I have cut out most breads and sweets except for rare occasions.

I've cut down meat portions. My plates currently are 2/3 full of veggies and fruit.

I have been learning exciting new tastes from many natural foods I've never had before!

I find the changes I've been making to be even more FUN than they are Beneficial...though of course they are very beneficial.

thank you so much for your kind words on my blog. I know I've got this this time. I really do have a much stronger support this time around, because I am using SP as more than just a place to track, Im using the sociala nd educational parts too.
