Here we ago again.......
I started Sparks in May of 2008. I was doing fine and had lost twenty pounds until I ended up in the hospital. I had to have my appendix taken out. It was down hill after that. I started Sparks in May of 2008. I was doing fine and had lost twenty pounds until I ended up in the hospital. I had to have my appendix taken out. It was down hill after that. So, this is my new beginning. Trying to get healthy again. I want to start feeling better again. I tired of feeling sick and physically tired all the time. I started Weight Watchers on September 2nd 2009 for assistance in losing the weight. I thought if I had to weigh-in in public that I would be more accountable. I was successful at the beginning. I'm no longer a member and I've gained the weight back. Started Weight Watchers again October 15, 2011 starting weight of 211 pounds. So lets see what happens! **************************************** Below is a Spark Healthy Reflection: Persevering through failure Of course try, try again, but when you don't succeed at something it's best not to beat yourself up or hold yourself to an unrealistic standard of achievement. Feeling as if you're a failure, simply for not reaching a goal, is not who you truly are. Do you think you're the only one who fails? Of course not! Most problems involve steps to their solution, and solving each step along the way IS an accomplishment. If you become discouraged during your weight loss journey or find your financial aspirations out of reach, keep trying! Some of life's most rewarding experiences make you sweat and persevere through hard times, only to emerge on the other side victorious and wiser for having worked so hard. **************************************** Foods to make you live longer: 1-Salmon (high in omega 3 fatty acids) 2-Green Tea (good for mental alertness and weight loss) 3-Spinach (high in magnesium, calcium; good for muscle and cardiovascular systems; 1 cup of spinach has as much calcium as a cup of milk!) 4-Tomatoes (even better if cooked as in tomato sauce or ketchup; good source of lycopene) 5-Dark Chocolate (high in flavinoids for a healthy heart; also high in fat so eat in moderation) 6-Oatmeal (high in soluble fiber to help control LDL, the bad cholesterol) 7-Blueberries (very high in antioxidants) 8-Yogurt ("good bacteria") 9-Sweet Potatoes (high in potassium, fiber, vitamin A for sight and good for blood pressure) **************************************** ********************* Goals: 5-10 lbs weight loss for month/loose 1-2 lbs week Do cardio 3x week Do weights 3x week Restrict restaurant food to only salads Cook complete meals at home more Log onto Spark people 5 out of 7 days Spark book: one chapter per week or more Drink 8 glasses of water (one glass tea per day)
