In May 2007, my mom brought home a new scale. Oh joy. I weighed 155 lbs. at a height of 5'5". This made me that I had gained 30lbs since high school! By weighing in every other day or so, by August 2007 I lost 10 lbs and was at 145 lbs. I thought this was good and was able to maintain the weight til the end of the year. Boy was I proud on New Years Day! But after that... I stopped watching the numbers on the scale. In August 2008, I picked up playing volleyball after a year of non-play. During practices however, I was getting exhausted... fast. I was hoping that I would still be able to play at the level I played at in high school in 2004 or even at a tournament in 2007. Soon, I was having problems with my right knee. It turned out that the quadricep in my right knee had atrophied due to lack of exercise! On August 8, 2008, when I stepped inside the doctors office, I was surprised to find that 151 lbs again! I had basically gained 6 out of 10 lbs of the weight I had already lost in a span of 8 months! That jump started me to get back to healthy living and being fit again! I began exercising more by doing yoga and bicycling, but I couldn't run due to my bad knee. But since then, I've weighed in almost everyday! I've kept track of my weight through an excel program and have watched my progress through a line graph I've made: Weight vs. Date. At the 6 months mark (in February) I went from 151 to 126 lbs! Since then I have been fluctuating between 125-130 lbs and can't seem to get rid of those last stubborn 10-15lbs. It's summer now, and I'm ready to live healthier and change different habits to lose those last pounds! My goal is to be the healthiest I can be! In 2010 i met my husband. At 135 lbs. By 2013 i had gained 15 lbs and we got married that year. By 2014, I had gained another 10 lbs and became pregnant with my son. After giving birth in 2015, i had added 25 lbs of baby weight. I did the Beachbody Focus T25 program and lost the baby weight and more, 40 lbs. After that I stopped eating healthy and exercising and by 2016 I had gained back 20 lbs. Then I found myself pregnant again. It is now 2017 and my baby girl is 8 weeks tomorrow and my son is 2.5 years old. From breastfeeding alone I shed the weight gain from my second pregnancy (almost) and currently at 170. Boy do I want to get back to when I met my husband! Here's to losing 35 lbs! For my height, that gets me to the high end of a normal BMI! Yesterday I signed up for Beachbody on demand and started "Shaun Week". It's a 7 day program. Once I finish that I'm going to start one of the 21 day programs!
