Better off than on!

Update:
Still trying to shed 15 pounds! I have moved on to utilizing the Lyn-Genet Plan to determine what foods are not good for me. I have been Vegan for over 5 years and Vegetarian for 23 years. I do not eat processed foods so when I read "The Plan" by Lyn-Genet it really spoke to me. What healthy food was I eating that was not healthy for me?

Update:

Determined to drop 20. I had been a smoker for over 20 years. When I quit, 5 years ago, I put on 10 pounds. I have always been a hiker. See a mountain - hike a mountain! However, I always have struggled with my breathing. So, I started running 4 years ago. Since then I have done 3 marathons, 1 ultra, and several 5ks, 10ks, and 1/2's. I still struggle with my breathing.

I am determined to lose this extra 20 (or so) pounds and improve my breathing! I am in this journey with my daughter who is a senior in college. Together we will be losers!!!!!

MOTTO: If you can't run fast, run long!

March Stu's 30k - 3:39:05 (fell down at mile 16.5!)

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to be able to run or hike, AND breathe as the same time.

My next measurable goal will be to run a marathon in under 5 hours.

I would like to reduce my debt, slowly but surely.

My Program:
Run nearly every day - slow and steady wins the race! (or at least finishes it)

Track food and fitness every day.

Drink at least 10 cups of water a day.

Moisturize often!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Part of why I was maintaining was I was eating more and running more. I read an interesting article that says ultra runners actually tend to gain weight! emoticon

I did some further reading and discovered that you have to really diligent about your eating while training. They said to only eat extra on the days you expend the energy unless you are racing then you can load the few days before. The other thing was to pay special attention to your protein and good carb intake to make sure they are balanced and that you are getting enough protein for the amount of training you are doing.
