I am 35 years old and a mother of 2. I have been big my whole life, but I am changing that now. I want to be fit, not to mention lose weight.

Fitness Minutes: 4,480

My Goals:
I aim to be healthy. And for me, that means losing over 100 pounds by making excerise a part of my life and making smarter choices in the food with which I fuel my body.

Short term goal: 270 by Dec 14th 2012 ** met goal Dec 3rd, 2012

NEW short term goal: 250 by Feb 3rd, 2013.

Long term goal: 185 by Sept 8, 2013


My Program:
I use the Nutrition Tracker everyday, for everything I eat. I use the Fitness Tracker for every physical activity I do. I stay in my calorie range and exercise as much as I can.

Fitness:
Alternating Zumba, Wii Fit Plus exercises, and walking on treadmill for cardio, 4-5 days/week.
Free weights and Shake Weight workouts for strength, 2-3 days/week.

Food:
I eat less than 1500 cals per day, but I'm ususally in the 1200 - 1300 range. I have cut out most sugar and bread/pasta. I do still have some occasionally. Deprivation is what causes me to fail! So, if I really want something, I'll make myself wait a few days then if I still really want it, I have some in moderation.






Personal Information:
My name is Desiree and I live in Florida. I have been married for 6 years and have two children; a 16 yr old daughter and 6 yr old son. I work full time and manage our household. So my well-being has been on the back burner for quite awhile. But now I realize that I need to spend some time making myself heathlier so that I can be here for my family for a long time, and not become a burden to them.


Other Information:
I am going to lose weight until I feel that I am physically fit, not to a certain weight which someone else has decided for me. I think those weight and bmi calculators are a ridiculous guideline for most people. I am 5'9" and let's just say I was considered "big boned" before it was slang for heavy. Some of those calculators would have me weigh 125. I would look absurd at 125 lbs. I like being strong and being able to do things other women cannot. So I will determine when I am fit, not some calculator.
