It's not about the scale any more.

Currently: 5'5" at around 130 lbs.

It's not about weight now; the scale cannot properly measure my progress any more. I am getting smaller and yet my weight is staying the same and even goes up. That's ok. The strongest women I know are surprisingly heavy for their size.

My Goals:
Get stronger. I don't want to have to do modified planks and pushups any more!

Climb a 5.11 top rope rock wall.

Get down to 22% body fat.

My Program:
Drastically reduced carbs, coming only from dairy, non-starchy veggies, and limited fruit. For the first time ever, I know what it's like to not be gassy and bloated.

Weight lifting (starting strength) 3x per week.

Bootcamp class 2x a week.

Rock climbing 1-3x a week.

Personal Information:
San Jose, CA
Married to a wonderful man for 8 years this year!

Other Information:
I love edible gardening. I have 23 fruit trees and loads of raised garden beds, so spring and summer really are my most favorite times of the year.

Hello,

I read your post about changing metabolism. I have been eating healthfully and exercising for 3 weeks now with no change at all. In the 2 weeks prior to that I was exercising, so I am feeling really discouraged at this point.

However, I think I might have a metabolism problem because last summer I was overseas in a very poor area. My diet was very restricted in variety and I was working a lot, missing meals, etc. I lost 25 lbs in 3 months and when I got home my hair started falling out because of the shock. I found that my stomach had shrunk so much I couldn't eat half a sandwich without being in pain.

So, all that to say - I feel you on this topic and the mystery surrounding it. Maybe we can help each other out by testing different methods and bouncing ideas off each other.

I am committed to losing weight but it's hard to hear about everyone else's lbs just falling off while we sit here and play the guessing game.

Lisa

I really appreciated your response on the thread about gaining weight early on. Great info and this is something I am currently dealing with, and working with. I have changed up my exercise, continued with plenty of water, and will also try to cycle my days of increasing my caloric intake to top range, and back to lower. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it! emoticon
